Boeing should definately not add profit to these aircraft as the best advertisement possible!

Or the US Government should charge them advertising for every time a AF1 is mentioned and photo'sd.

(I would imagine they dont charge profit and dont get taxed).

They're selling them to the Air Force for cost, or even below cost. They don't make profit on Air Force One, because it basically advertises for them everywhere it goes.

So it doesn't look like the option of a third airframe is going to be taken up at this stage then? Zaph will they give the -8 a different designation or keep it as a VC-25? Fundamentally its just a sub variant.

They'll probably go with VC-25B, but it hasn't been decided yet.

The 747 is over designed. Remember it can carry a space shuttle. So it is a good airframe to tweak.
