My dad has been in and out of hospitals for various health issues related to Parkinson's. He also has early stage dementia.

My apologies, my title was not worded politely, and by no means did I mean to insult all nurses. I know there are a lot of nurses do the thankless hard task of dealing with sick people every day. Just as in any profession there are bad apples, like we have seen with police. There are nurses that have been caught stealing medication for their addiction, nurses that have killed people etc., I just wanted to highlight the possibility of a possibly darker sick side.

dementia can cause severe hallucinations... so i wouldn't be surprised if he believed what he thought he saw
i've heard worse actually...
Some nurses are idiots... but most arn't cannibals

JAGStorm...sounds like your dad has a form of dementia called Lewy Body. It presents with both parksinsonian and Alzheimer like symptoms ( I know because my dad went through the same thing). Your best bet would be to pull in a neurologist that specializes in dementia patients. He/she could help with a formal diagnosis, meds that alleviate symptoms and slow progression, and, provide you valuable info. re: caregiving and support of family members with this type of illness.
Hope this helps.

Im afraid not my friend... i work with dementia patients every day...
in the early stages they can seem quite normal, usually just some memory loss... unfortunately its a progressive disease
Some will claim to see things, some hear things... voices that arn't there
some see monsters and demons... but its what this disease does to the person, its not demon possession
the brain tissues literally start to shrink, and the connections that were once there no loner get the right signals, they can be crossed or even just absent
sadly, it only gets worse... but in many cases they are still pretty happy, which is actually the only plus side

It is demonic possession. What they see is the lifting veil and the lie before them.
No one is happy there my friend. Not even those coming home with a fat check.
The elderly are calling everyone's asses out for what they are and what they support. Lies, majik, curses through sorcerery using demons.
