Active Shooter Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay

Just listened to some of the video. Some members have stated that it sounded like an M249 SAW . That is exactly the sound this squad assault weapon produces.
Again ,it is hard to say with an apparent echo but the actual sound matches .

And according to the article the civilian public can purchase one online (semi-automatic of course)
I am a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment and absolutely the right to own firearms . However , this is ridiculous.

The lone shooter may of had a gun in each hand. If he was firing from a balcony, a balcony railing could be a good support to mount a weapon one

Or the sound waves of the gun fire bouncing off other buildings may make the gun fire in the videos sound a little off

the other thing people need to consider is the number of people dead might not all be from being shot. That many people stampeding for safety / exits and you are bound to have casualties from people being trampled over / crushed / medical conditions etc.

This lunatic seems like he was using an illegal weapon. How would you stop it by making guns illegal. Hell, people can even manufacture their own guns illegally, never mind the availability on the black market if guns were illegal. A war on guns would be about as successful as the war on drugs.

Agreed - witness stated the woman was playing with people's hair and saying they were all going to die... now that doesn't sounds like a mentally stable person, nor someone actually giving warning, nor reliable testimony.

Yes, this weapon was illegal. But where legally all kinds of weapons are traded access to these kind of machine gun might be a lot of easier than in other countries.

Sorry guys, but my reaction was that I thought I am lucky not to live in the US - where ever idiot can get gun. Ever thought about in how many other countries guns are legal?

2. Watch out for the spin on weapons used.
California is pushing their anti-gun agenda eastward, just as much as the marijuana laws.
I remember if you were caught in Nevada with a seed you could get years not so long ago. Just putting it out there.

3. Multiple shots heard at multiple locations just like Dallas, yet there is only ONE suspect so far. Ludicrous.

4. Folks are still spouting nonsense about intent and/or affiliations.

5. As we try to make sense of this, none of this will make sense to those of us that have common sense.

6. Watch for spins on Trump, gun laws, religious and ideological extremism, lone nut theories, and political affiliation.

7. A sh# storm is coming from the media that will pale in comparison to the severe weather we have been experiencing. Weather will be second fiddle to this mess for weeks. PR reports will continue to be horrible to add to the pressure.

8. Something else is brewing..... behind the scenes.
Something super significant and huge IMO.... these "events" are being strung together too tightly to dismiss them as "just one of those things".

9. Remember this is ATS...anything is possible...if not, at the very least, plausible...

As for the going on about the fully auto weapon, I don't think so. The firing rate is off (many of you might argue about this but I was a Machine Gunner in the Marine Corps and had quite a few hours on different weapon platforms) To me it sounds like a rapid firing device that are popular with certain people. They used to be fairly easy to get a hold of, but a little harder now. The shooter could also be using his hand in an unconventional way to provide the rapid fire as well, but the cycle of shots seems to regulated for that. If we assumed that the individual was using a fully automatic weapon, then why don't we hear full on automatic firing? We only are hearing the cycled firing. Truth be known though, we'll have to wait and see what weapon it is.

North Las Vegas on the strip to be exact. Place is tiny.

64 year old local guy was the shooter. He's white as far as I know so it isn't Islamic terrorism like everyone assumes. 50 dead 200 injured

We dont know cause of death for those killed. Its possible some fatalities occurred when there was a rush to safety ny being trampled / crushed etc by people fleeing.

Okay, just so I am following you - the photo that The Mirror claims IS the Stephen Paddock who has done this - is from his facebook, and is the same dude in the instagram post that was posted 10 - 12 hours prior to the shooting?
