You didn't speak up "stridently."

You outright accused the staff of this site of using fake accounts for some nefarious purposes that I still can't figure out.

If we wanted something gone we'd trash the thread, not bother making a bunch of accounts to argue. Contrary to popular belief normal people do not have that sort of time. Our staff are volunteers and don't spend all day on here making fake accounts to play with.

Then again you would know that wouldn't you? After all, you did claim that you were once a mod here.

I experience this too, almost every day. It's due to malicious ads. It only happens on ATS. I also run Malwarebytes and have nothing on my system. It happens when I'm logged in too.

My mistake. I somehow thought members concerns should be addressed. Twice now I have been told in this thread by other members to leave.
But, that is opinion.

Much was posted while I typed my last reply. I DO understand. All I wanted was an answer, because this phone has never been to a porn site. AND it only happens on THIS site. Stange is it not?

I spent about 3 hours testing this when I got off work, I'm a web developer/programmer... no matter what device I used, android, iphone ios9, iphon ios10, pc, laptop and even tried Linux and OS X .. repeated browsing using automation used for UI testing, I saw not one example of this happening, and with each repetition I had cookies cleared, tried browsing both logged in and logged out, there were HUNDREDS of tests ran ( sorry ATS ) ..

I saw this happen 0 times.. I saw no malicious scripts, no redirect calls.. these tests were done with no plugins loaded so no adblockers of any kind and these UI tests run in a vmware environment that gets reset per use so there's no potential for malware.

This isn't from ATS...

Stands to reason that if it was ATS it would be universal, I don't get this on kindle ( i didn't test AS strictly ) but I tested heavily on iPhone and iPad, no such result.. I also tested on OS X ( as mentioned in a previous post I just made ) .. I dedicated 3 hours to it..

Keep in mind not all malware is detected by virus scanners or malwarebytes..

Redirects happens here on both of my phones. Only my phones, not on my laptop or desktop. No malware detected. Happens only when I visit ATS. I am completely unable to use ATS on my phones unless I install stuff to stop it from occurring. I know it is attached to ATS and I will not come here using my phone. I rarely visit here anymore. Please fix this issue. Thank you

Did you try Samsung? Or do you have some kind of blockers in your test environments?

Sorry, but I also experience this on my phone. Ads pop up - only on ATS - that fill the screen and are impossible to close. I have had ads pop up that make noise, and vibrate my phone. I am kind of an Internet addict, and am on-line constantly. ATS is really the only site that this happens for me.

The ads are so large on the phone that even if they don't completely fill the screen, they are impossible to scroll past without launching the ad. I guess that is the purpose, but after clicking accidentally a couple of times I usually give up. That might be what people are calling redirects. They are not actually automatically redirecting, but are impossible to avoid, resulting in getting redirected by accidentally brushing against an ad.

It really does make me just close the site and do something else, because getting to the ATS content on my phone is pretty frustrating.

I like ATS very much, but the ads are extreme - at least on my phone.

Had this happen exactly ONCE on my Android Tracfone. It was only on ATS going direct from the stock browser, and using ad blocking on hastily downloaded FF for Android nipped it in the bud immediately.

It's not from anywhere else I was going because ATS was the first site I went to and had redirect issues with. Ceased as soon as I put a block stop to it with a different browser, so it'd be nice if the staff would quite telling posters it's us & our browsing history.

From Springer on the last page:

We don't allow redirect ads here (why would we?!) and it's a well known fact that certain cell networks and ISPs force ads upon their subscribers that replace the ads a site displays. It's also a well known fact that shady sites DO allow malicious ads that WILL plant cookies (and all sorts of other nastier things) on your phone/tablet/pc browser. So the only logical conclusion in light of the facts is it's not ATS.

I have to respectfully ask - then why does it ONLY happen on ATS?

ETA: I should add, I "think" this is more common when not logged in, which I sometimes do just to check in.

I might buy the explanation, except as Blue says, why only you guys? The explanation falls short here.

Most people don't see the problems that are being reported. I'm almost exclusively on my phone, and I've never had a single problem on ATS, in the last five or six years. That's being on here daily, for long hours of the day, leaving my phone logged in and coming back to it, etc. And the majority of our members have never reported any problems. I have no idea why ATS, except that, as he said, statistically it isn't ATS causing the problems.

I agree. It happens when you're not logged in.

Staff ... it's a genuine issue.

I have the same issue. Only on this site, and it happens when I'm logged in. It has happened on all my devices, new and old. Though I've begun to notice it happens extremely frequently through my wifi, and almost never to never when I'm using my phones data. Maybe there's something there.

We've explained this for over ten years... If you can't figure it out well, then that's your issue... 300,000 people aren't wrong and neither is the computer science that the web actually runs on.

sigh...
