Never had it happen on either of the two laptops I use, or the Kindle Fire. Whatever is causing it, it isn't originating from Above Top Secret.

[ETA]

Not that you asked, but what I would do is download and run Malwarebytes and ComboFix. Both free utilities. Maybe a CleanUp! first, also free.

I'm almost exclusively on ATS on my phone and have never seen a redirect. I've seen them happen on other pages, but not since I put MalwareBytes on my phone.

Yep. That's what I get. Using Malwarebytes, I did a full system scan and came up with with nada--no virus, no malware. I only run into this on ATS.

I think I am going to stick to my MacBook when I want to be on ATS.

I use a mobile browser no ad blocker, I just use NoScript, Bluhell Firewall, and I have AVG zen on all of my devices I never get redirected and am able to see all the content on ATS but never get redirects, it is probably malware on your device.

I've experienced this on every mobile I've used.

it's caused by ads from sketchy sources. As the ads rotate, some days ATS is unusable from mobile. I've seen it as mundane as one in an hour, or as bad as every single page view.
Never happens on other sites/forums.

Dear Site Administrators:

Please fix this problem. And stop with the sock puppets saying it's our fault for going to pornographic sites. That blaming of we members is what really pi$$es me off.
Will it get your attention when members start leaving ? Especially if they bad mouth ATS at their next stop ?
It's time to openly look into this matter. Guys, despite your obvious reliance on your own perfection, ignoring this shows a lack off care on the site's part.
Start a thread , without sock puppet input , and get to the bottom of this. Treat it like a credible UFO report and do more than just an "armchair investigation " on thiis matter. Your sock puppet answers are all "swamp gas from Venus" horseapples , and your official silence on the matter screams money over members or real incompetence , you decide which.
Remember "Deny Ignorance " ? Ignorance can be willful by consciously 'iignoring' an obvious problem.

Sincerely Yours ;

I haven't ever encountered it on ATS... EVER. However, I am familiar with what you're talking about because I have encountered it other places, and yes, it's annoying.

I bought a new iPhone last month. First time I visited ATS on Safari (within an hour of getting online) I got a re-direct. Haven't surfed any dubious sites, only mainstream news & football (soccer) sites. This new handset was straight from manufacturer.

Also had re-directs on my last handset, Samsung, that had McAfee on it. Defo something amiss somewhere.

It's just like you say.

I have an old iPAD II that I browse on. You can't even put AdBlock software on the device. I wiped it completely clean after it stopped getting upgrades from Apple. I use it to browse ATS (unlogged on) and the Drudge Report.

ATS can blow-out so frequently I'll just quit trying. As many different sites as you can bounce to from Drudge, I almost never experience this level of frustration. When I get frustrated ... no more ad revenue.

Your site is completely unusable without an account. This is based on my experience of your website from multiple devices. No offense. Try it yourself for a casual week.

There are tons of video ads. Tons. And they don't always load properly and this leads to the most issues. Soundbytes just blasting from the ads while trying to peacefully read threads is common also. Not only do they blast sound, but it's normally indistinguishable banging noise from faulty loading of the ad. Useless, in other words, as well.

There are also full-screen pop-ups that are difficult to close, but are also not actual new windows, so you must find a way to close it within it's web-interface. These really annoying pop-ups make you feel the best thing to do would be to refresh the page completely, but somehow this loads the exact same ad again, and so it must be closed somehow(different often) to view your website. The space allocated in the middle of the scrolling page for ads is also far too large, and whatever algorithms are terrible deciding to constantly target me ads for apocalypse survival kits, male enhancement and literally Hulk Hogan. These things are all really annoying.

Most of the problems with the Mobile version is easy to repeat and I've encountered the same exact thing multiple times, as exactly described in OP to the T, on multiple devices.

I wouldn't call it nonsense, it is absolutely driving traffic away and is a common deciding tilting factor in making me personally leave the site to do something else once annoyed. Logging into an account resolves the issues of the ads a lot somehow, I have no idea why. I also have no reason to lie to you, in your Support forum for your board, and waste all this time explaining a real issue to you as a user that ultimately would better my experience. If it's part of other malicious cookies on my machine that are common, and out of your control, then I'm sorry, but I'm just voicing an opinion that's been echoed by many, so I'm not sure it's total 'nonsense'. The issue seems to be common place to the website, even if the origin of the problem is not.

Happens to me, too. It's always an ad that mentions Amazon in some way or another. It only happens on ATS when I use my phone and it happens with Chrome and that crummy Android browser. I don't know how to get rid of malware and I don't really care. I mean, really. If a virus popped up and made my phone completely inoperable I wouldn't even miss it. I'd just throw it in the lake.

Have you considered recycling it?

See, ya learn something everyday, if you're lucky.

You are ajerk dude . I have never had this issue on my phone or computer and I have no special security for both of them. Stop blaming ATS staff you self entitled scallywag. You have no rights here and you don't have to use ATS .

My "nonsense" was directed to the ridiculous "sock puppet" statments in the post I was replying to.

Here's the deal, we have every major OS and browser for mobile, tablet, and desktop on test rigs.

SO tests the site on them regularly as do millions of visitors a month. The issues reported are not common on "clean" browsers, BUT, they are common and repeatable on browsers that connect through certain cell providers and browsers infected with malware, adware, etc... on them.

We don't allow redirect ads here (why would we?!) and it's a well known fact that certain cell networks and ISPs force ads upon their subscribers that replace the ads a site displays. It's also a well known fact that shady sites DO allow malicious ads that WILL plant cookies (and all sorts of other nastier things) on your phone/tablet/pc browser. So the only logical conclusion in light of the facts is it's not ATS.

All that combined with the fact we can't control what the service providers or other sites do is why these accusations get tiring and lead me to reply with single word responses.

Don't get me wrong though, we know stuff slips through the cracks, but it's so infrequent it's not statistically significant.

The privliage of being a member is not having any Ads. This has been mentioned before . Also how else are they going to generate $$$ to keep the site open? You going to pay for a subscription ? I have been on ATS for 10+ years and have NEVER experienced anything you or the op Described even when not logged in . You have a choice in weather or not you use ATS services .

Nonsense.

Then you have no clue why this happens?
I find it hard to believe that ATS has no control over ad execution and content.
What I find nonsense is blaming multiple members as porn heads and idiots.

This is the second thread here on this issue. Doesn't that tell you something about the reality of this ?
As I alluded to above , your answers seem to be in line with the military rules on answering difficult questions by ridicule and blanket denile it is even happening.
All I asked for is some explanation for this, and got zero. Then I spoke up again, perhaps a bit more stridently, and your response is a one word parental sounding put down ?
Thank you so much, but unless you're about 90 years old, you can't "daddy"me. You can ban me as an inconvenience, and I give my word never to return under any handle. But at heart I have the best intetest of this site in mind.

Yours Truely

I sell ads for a living.

Inaudible banging noise is not ads, that's lost traffic. Winning 'contests' etc. is also garbage.

Whatever malicious software causes it, is extremely common. I almost promise you I could turn a brand new phone on again and it would be bad in no time, and I don't use Facebook, or Porn at all. I check my Banking, and use ATS on my phone. That's mostly it.

I don't know how much more video ads actually payout for example, but this is a terrible place to push them.
