The Associated Press “clarified” a false claim it’s been running in stories about President Trump and Russia on Friday, conceding in a release it’s not the case that 17 intelligence agencies “agreed” on the hacking narrative.
The correction to four reports on Trump and Russia comes the same day The New York Times issued a similar correction to a Maggie Haberman report. Both TheNYT and the AP now say the claim they’ve been floating for months is incorrect. (RELATED: The NYT Issued An Absurdly Worded Correction On Russia. We Fixed It For Them)
“The Associated Press reported that all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies have agreed that Russia tried to influence the 2016 election to benefit Donald Trump,” the AP stated, citing four specific reports from as early as April that made the assertion. “That assessment was based on information collected by three agencies – the FBI, CIA and National Security Agency – and published by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which represents all U.S. intelligence agencies.”
“Not all 17 intelligence agencies were involved in reaching the assessment,” the statement concludes.
The timing of both corrections is odd, since the facts of the claim have not changed since it began circulating in October of 2016, just before the presidential election, and the figure was clearly debunked as early as May of this year. Hillary Clinton used the large number to ridicule Trump on the campaign trail, and has reiterated the claim in recent months, along with other Democrats and members of the press.

So, like the NYT the AP has now had to retract claims they made in 4 separate pieces dealing with the IC and the number of agencies that "supported" the claims, revising it from 17 down to 4 (technically 3 and the DNI).
The media keeps losing credibility and to be honest im not sure all the retractions are going to help salvage them. Bad reporting is one thing but when its intentional, and done in conjunction to assist a political candidate (Clinton) over others its just shameful.
Too bad the retractions dont get nearly the coverage as the original lies.

It was suspiciously the same as the Dem party talking points. I wonder why?

From senate testimony May 8th
SENATOR AL FRANKEN: “The Intelligence Communities [sic] concluded, all 17 of them, that Russia interfered with the election.”
GENERAL JAMES CLAPPER: “Senator, as I pointed out in my statement, there were only three agencies directly involved in the assessment (CIA, NSA, FBI).
SENATOR AL FRANKEN: “But all 17 signed on.”
GENERAL JAMES CLAPPER: “We didn’t go through the process. It was a special situation because of the time limit, and I knew who could contribute to it and it was a conscious judgment to restrict it to those three.”

It clearly says "Not all 17 intelligence agencies were involved in reaching the assessment". How do you know they agree if they weren't involved in making the assessment? Because you were lied to, and you believed it.

The DNI is the head of 16 agencies. A statement coming out of that office that says the IC is in agreement means all groups agree. As we know now only 4 agencies helped produce the document, but that doesnt change the first fact that all group agree with the assessment. Pretty telling how right-wing supporters are distorting this into something malicious to bash the MSM with.

This time, the Associated Press invented an imaginary meeting between EPA administrator Scott Pruitt and Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris, and then alleged that some kind of impropriety happened as a result.
In a story June 27, The Associated Press, relying on schedules provided by the Environmental Protection Agency, reported erroneously that EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt met with Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris for about a half-hour at a Houston hotel. A spokeswoman for the EPA says the meeting listed on the schedule was canceled, though Pruitt and Liveris did have a ‘brief introduction in passing.’

All these corrections of fake news can't be a coincidence. They are either worried about a undercover sting video coming out or were forced to tell the truth by "fixers" who have something on them.
I believe that Trump has these "fixers" out there and investigators to uncover all the bull** and prove the corruption. He's draining the swamp and exposing the collusion of the dems and media.
Mueller is investigating the Russia collusion story and finding the media and dems ARE the collusion.
