I feel your pain. Used to be, threads with BS science got called out as such by people with actual knowledge of science.

Now, any random set of links can be thrown up and the echo chamber chimes right in trying to muscle people into thinking their way.

To everyone that doesn't believe ATS is an alt-right echo chamber, show me a liberal that posts 6-7 hyperbolic OP's in a day. I'll wait. There are more than a few conservative posters here who do that. Anyone that doesn't bow down to Donald Trump is in constant defense mode here, and that's not even arguable, it's obvious to any one who reads the threads here.

And before everyone jumps on me screaming how I'm just feeding into the two party BS, just know I realize the folly of the two party system. But when a person is forced to constantly defend themselves against an onslaught of posters every day on almost every topic, don't be surprised when they fight back.

I'm not even sure if I'm all the way left. I love my guns, I've been collecting and shooting since a kid, and I want the government out of my life unless it's to pay me back in healthcare for all the money I've paid in to government that I'll never see a dime of.

What I am sure of is that I cannot ever be on the "side" of anyone who believes Jeff Sessions and Steve Bannon and others with similar ideas hold a brighter future for our country. And since Trump personally nominated both of those monsters, that puts him in the same category.

It's CLICKS and VIEWS that keep the lights on.

If the right-wingers pull in MORE of those...

But yeah...I HEAR you.

can i also just take a moment to point out an interesting little factoid that feels kinda relevant;

we have a LOT of extremely conservative members here, and a pretty large contingent of quite far or alt right members, along with, you know, a majority of moderate members of whatever persuasion.... but we have literally no far left members. In fact, i'm probably about as left-wing as it gets around here, and i'm considered by most of the hard-line leftists i know to be almost offensively moderate.
just a nibble for a thought there.

We have people that believe in no boredrs, self proclaimed anarchists, blm defenders, socialists, etc.

I find it so strange that almost every week now we get threads from people on the left moaning how ats has no one in the left, that then gets a ton of flags and replies, from people on the left.

The ability to not be a Tuesday someone might see next time seems to be the reason people are picked as mods. There have been two mods I HATED. They're gone now. It wasn't personal, they weren't terrible to me, they were just terrible to other members.

ATS does an amazing job picking mods. This isn't me brown nosing, I genuinely like the mods. Problems get sorted out fairly, there seems to be enough discretion (I got in trouble and didn't mean to break rules) harshness (I was being a dick and got sorted out) and the mods seem to genuinely enjoy being here (because they're all drunk).

ATS doesn't police opinions. The mods are great at being a word I can't remember. Impartial. It's not the word I was going for, but I'm still tipsy at so I'm settling. Give a mod a hug, they put up with our BS for free.

Well I'll be!

You saw me hand Panterz the "Most Intellectually Dishonest Post of the Day Award" and thought you'd try to snatch it away for yourself, did you?

When what might as well be half the liberals regulars around here overtly support liberals committing atrocities (beatings, abductions, mass murder, etc) against all who oppose them, how do you prefer we describe that trend?

What I'm noticing is not that there aren't many on the left, but many on the left have become less vocal. Maybe some can't take it, maybe some are slowly realizing what is going on, and maybe some are just too insecure.

But it's threads like this that remind you they are still here ready to flag away at any chance they get.

Good point but a hell of a lot of those Click's and Views even if no comment is made are from the Left wingers whom are often annoyed at what the right wing may be claiming so despite the prevalence of some right wing thread's that is not really a fair barometer of the opinion of all ATS members.

Usually though the left wingers are more civil while the right wingers will mob a left wing point of opinion very fast in many cases (not in all though it all depends upon how knowledgeable and erudite those commentators and/or thread author's are).

There are however a large number of NON US members that attack Trump, OK he is the president of the most powerful nation in the world so they feel they have an interest but in reality what the US citizen's do in there own country, whom they choose to lead them are there concern.

I find it distressing that there seems to be a gradual turn against higher education and universities. I can only think it's because demographics show the more educated people tend to vote leftist. Not to say there are no educated people on the right, surely there are. But I've noticed the more vehement Trump supporters going after those with both graduate and post graduated degrees. This trend is disturbing.

(Should they consider watering their tomato plants and gardens with Mountain Dew this year, just a word. Don't do it. They won't thrive or produce healthy fruit.)

When you're team have become the modern day equivalent of the KKK in their prime years like 100 years ago, and the bulk of your rationale to be as such is totally fallacious malarkey, I'd like to think at some people within such ranks would start to simmer down with the agenda at some point / break ranks / turn against it.

you do realise there's a moderator on this site who has an icon of Captain America emblazoned with the Confederate flag?

It's the type of people who think Captain America is a confederate flag waving Nazi that are always complaining and saying the alt-right has taken over ATS. I think this view is indicative of how you guys on the left feel. America is a rotten, no good country. Anyone who doesn't agree with your world view is a ___________(insert trigger word here). So you make threads complaining about people who you disagree with all the while using stupid phrases like alt right, conservative echo chamber, Nazis, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, blah blah blah. If someone doesnt agree with you then they must be some type of -ist.

This is one of the most hypocritical threads I've read yet.

It's so simple. Don't go in the political forums if you don't like them.

Maybe we need a new forum called Safe Space. Where everything is kittens and rainbows. Then people can hang out in there as to never get offended by their beliefs being challenged or questioned.

I mean just look at how offensive this superhero that is dressed in stars and stripes is.

What a nazi.......

See how hypocritical you people are?

ATS is being taken over by hate filled alt right people but here you are saying that people who don't vote like you are stupid and will water their plants with mountain dew.

Maybe it's because these institutions ban consevative speakers,

give in to racial segrgationists,

have overwhelmingly left lean professors that push cultural Marxism,

that occasional call for racial violence against whites,

that preach violence against conservatives, with some professors actually joining in on the violence,

Etc.

I am sure if some rabid white supremacist professor was saying blacks need to die, you would be the first to be outraged.

But it seems every week we see the reverse, and yet you are afraid that people are criticizing this.

In all honesty this is probably the 20th "ATS IS IN DECLINE"-esque thread I've been in.

Let me know when we hit the bottom.
