Late to the thread and only saw the news scroll on the TV while at the local hotdog shop a little bit a go.

Can someone give me a current update on what we know so I don't have to read the entire thread?

Thanks in advance.

Explosion at a concert, some reports of 20 dead, early days but looking like terrorism. I would bet 10 000 pounds it is NOT Irish Republicans.

I know very well where you are going with that.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions and will wait to hear facts.

That's perfectly fine. Though when you hear an engine behind you do you wait until you are on the floor before you wonder if it might be a car?

A bloodless way to control the terrorist population in secret.

That's called genocide.

Political terrorism doesn't usually target children.

I could be wrong, but didn't this happen in the country where there is a camera on every corner?
If not everywhere else?

I'm guessing it should be soon that we get video footage from all the surveillance cameras?

Right?

Security Cameras don't stop bombs.

And surveillance footage may take time, if at all, to be released because investigations.

Anyone else listening to this guy on BBC News

Its really shocking, he was searching through the bodies looking for his wife and kid.

That is horrifying. This one made me sicker than most. Targeting children at a concert.

I am trying really hard not to jump to the easy conclusion and getting angry about it, but it is hard when I read things like that.

...and the usual suspects have shown up to disperse any rational discussion of what is an otherwise deadly serious topic.

Disappointing

Such a soft target.

So cowardly.

Lets face it, this has probably been a act of a Islamic terrorist who when you want to break it all down is pissed of a UK foreign policy involvement in the Middle East.

So attacking kids like this is so unjustifiable, so cowardly, these scum just wouldn't have the bollocks to role up at sterling lines and try this.

I am so disgusted by this words cannot express

Same with me. I just remind myself that the anger is justified, but will wait to direct my anger until I am sure of the appropriate target.

Indeed.

Had to have been a lot of young folks, considering the musician.

"Security Cameras don't stop bombs."

Agreed, no, no they don't.

But then why have so damn many in the UK?

To stop crime and terrorism, or to babysit the population?

Either way, the cameras should show the thing going off, and maybe show who did it.

Dude this thread is about a terrorist attack.

its not about the use of CCTV in the UK.

CCTV will not stop a guy with a bomb in his (or her) bag killing a bunch of kids leaving a gig to go home.

End of.

Wrong. So wrong.

Off the top of my head I can refer you to the IRA bombing in the 70s killing Lord Mountbatten, his wife, his 14 yo grandson and the grandsons 15yo mate.

Shouldn't make a difference whether it's kids or adults at a concert to be honest

Murder is murder regardless of age
