World Myths about prior civilizations on Earth, and their destruction

In addition to the Bible's account, there are many myths about prior civilizations on Earth, and their destruction. According to our ancient scriptures, there have been at least four times that the Earth has been inhabited and wiped out.

To me, it's interesting to see that on some level, they are quite similar while from different sources.

Hesiod's Five Ages

Lucas Cranach the Elder, The Silver Age Virgil Solis, The Iron Age The first extant account of the successive ages of humanity comes from the Greek poet Hesiod (between 750 and 650 BC), in his poem Works and Days (lines 109–201). His list is:

Golden Age – The Golden Age is the only age that falls within the rule of Cronus. Created by the immortals who live on Olympus, these humans were said to live among the gods, and freely mingled with them. Peace and harmony prevailed during this age. Humans did not have to work to feed themselves, for the earth provided food in abundance. They lived to a very old age but with a youthful appearance and eventually died peacefully. Their spirits live on as "guardians". Plato in Cratylus (397e) recounts the golden race of men who came first. He clarifies that Hesiod did not mean men literally made of gold, but good and noble. He describes these men as daemons upon the earth. Since δαίμονες (daimones) is derived from δαήμονες (daēmones, meaning knowing or wise), they are beneficent, preventing ills, and guardians of mortals.

Silver Age – The Silver Age and every age that follows fall within the rule of Cronus's successor and son, Zeus. Men in the Silver age lived for one hundred years under the dominion of their mothers. They lived only a short time as grown adults, and spent that time in strife with one another. During this Age men refused to worship the gods and Zeus destroyed them for their impiety. After death, humans of this age became "blessed spirits" of the underworld.

Bronze Age – Men of the Bronze Age were hardened and tough, as war was their purpose and passion. Zeus created these humans out of the ash tree. Their armor was forged of bronze, as were their homes, and tools. The men of this Age were undone by their own violent ways and left no named spirits; instead, they dwell in the "dank house of Hades". This Age came to an end with the flood of Deucalion. Heroic Age – The Heroic Age is the one age that does not correspond with any metal. It is also the only age that improves upon the age it follows. It was the heroes of this Age who fought at Thebes and Troy. This race of humans died and went to Elysium.

Iron Age – Hesiod finds himself in the Iron Age. During this age humans live an existence of toil and misery. Children dishonor their parents, brother fights with brother and the social contract between guest and host (xenia) is forgotten. During this age might makes right, and bad men use lies to be thought good. At the height of this age, humans no longer feel shame or indignation at wrongdoing; babies will be born with gray hair and the gods will have completely forsaken humanity: "there will be no help against evil."

Ovid's Four Ages
The Roman poet Ovid (1st century BC – 1st century AD) tells a similar myth of Four Ages in Book 1.89–150 of the Metamorphoses. His account is similar to Hesiod's with the exception that he omits the Heroic Age. Ovid emphasizes the justice and peace that defined the Golden Age. He adds that in this age, men did not yet know the art of navigation and therefore did not explore the larger world, no man had knowledge of any arts but pre agriculture. In the Silver Age, Jupiter introduces the seasons and men consequentially learn the art of agriculture and architecture. In the Bronze Age, Ovid writes, men were prone to warfare, but not impiety. Finally, in the Iron Age, men demarcate nations with boundaries; they learn the arts of navigation and mining; they are warlike, greedy and impious. Truth, modesty and loyalty are nowhere to be found.

The ancient Hindu scriptures talk about cycles called Yugas(of which I personally have the most respect) that as happened here on Earth:

Satya Yuga (also known as Krita Yuga "Golden Age"): The first and best Yuga. It was the age of truth and perfection. The Krita Yuga was so named because there was but one religion, and all men were saintly: therefore they were not required to perform religious ceremonies. Humans were gigantic, powerfully built, honest, youthful, vigorous, erudite and virtuous. The Vedas were one. All mankind could attain to supreme blessedness. Thee was no agriculture or mining as the earth yielded those riches on its own. Weather was pleasant and everyone was happy. There were no religious sects. There was no disease, decrepitude or fear of anything. Human lifespan was 100,000 years and humans tended to have hundreds or thousands of sons or daughters. People had to perform penances for thousands of years to acquire Samadhi and die.

Treta Yuga: Is considered to be the second Yuga in order, however Treta means the "Third". In this age, virtue diminishes slightly. At the beginning of the age, many emperors rise to dominance and conquer the world. Wars become frequent and weather begins to change to extremities. Oceans and deserts are formed. People become slightly diminished compared to their predecessors. Agriculture, labour and mining become existent. Average lifespan of humans is around 1000-10,000 years.

Dvapara Yuga: Is considered to be the third Yuga in order. Dvapara means "two pair" or "after two". In this age, people become tainted with Tamasic qualities and aren't as strong as their ancestors. Diseases become rampant. Humans are discontent and fight each other. Vedas are divided into four parts. People still possess characteristics of youth in old age. Average lifespan of humans is around a few centuries.

Kali Yuga: The final age. It is the age of darkness and ignorance. People become sinners and lack virtue. They become slaves to their passions and are barely as powerful as their earliest ancestors in the Satya Yuga. Society falls into disuse and people become liars and hypocrites. Knowledge is lost and scriptures are diminished. Humans eat forbidden and dirty food. The environment is polluted, water and food become scarce. Wealth is heavily diminished. Families become non-existent. Average lifespan of people is barely 100 years, though, by the end of the Yuga, it will be as low as 20 years.

The ancient Aztecs of has the myth of the Five Suns:

Nahui-Ocelotl (Jaguar Sun) - Inhabitants were giants who were devoured by jaguars. The world was destroyed.

Nahui-Ehécatl (Wind Sun) - Inhabitants were transformed into monkeys. This world was destroyed by hurricanes.

Nahui-Quiahuitl (Rain Sun) - Inhabitants were destroyed by rain of fire. Only birds survived (or inhabitants survived by becoming birds).

Nahui-Atl (Water Sun)This world was flooded turning the inhabitants into fish. A couple escaped but were transformed into dogs.

Nahui-Ollin (Earthquake Sun) - We are the inhabitants of this world. This world will be destroyed by earthquakes (or one large earthquake).

The Aegean sea itself formed when the tectonic plate shifting and fracturing, with one segment started sinking to form the sea. That would suggest that at some time, there would have been a natural dams on the South side of the Aegean and that it would have collapsed.

Each of those geological changes would have changed the ability to find food, leading to war and conflict.

I have always considered many of the ancient myths and legends to have a ring of truth to them.
Whether they are purely esoteric or analogous or indeed fantasy. The fact they have been passed down through the generations often purely in oral form tells of the importance these accounts to the cultures that have maintained them.
The flood myths are particularly interesting in that as far as we know today, they are shared by cultures who had no contact with each other. So it's curious that they should have similar accounts in their legends.

You might find this discussion largely concerning the events of the last ice age of interest. It covers both sides of the argument by a few folks extremely knowledgeable in their respective fields of research.

Worlds in Collision: by Immanuel Velikovsky is a interesting take on the past as to what may of been causing these shifts or changes It was the theory of the electric universe and Velikovsky's work that kind of put the ancient past into a perspective I have today . Most probably. But the Greeks weren’t living there at the time. They moved into the Peloponnese and the Aegean islands during the Bronze Age.

If there was ever a previous high technology civilization in our solar system or earth, we might be able to find some evidence of space exploration orbiting around some of the planets or even the sun.

Do we even have radar powerful enough to detect satellite size objects that could be floating around our solar system?

Perhaps on the moon? As there are no glacier, volcanos, floods, etc. on the Moon to wheater its surface, I guess things from ancient space races would still be there.

The idea behind genesis, the choice of words originally conveyed the idea you speak of.

The world was not void and empty...it was MADE void and empty. This was entoned as a judgement.

So the correct and original meaning was: God judged the world and his judgement was to make it void and empty.

Adam was the first of his kind....a new form of mankind. He was a prince and kept from suffering like a Buddha.....

There we're men living on earth in the land of Nod when Adam lived, so the planet was already populated. Adam's son, Cain, married one of their women and had children with her.

Lillith would steal the seed of Adams children to overcome the baren nature of her punishment.

She and hers would steal and kill babes from the descendants of Adam.

In the old world red heads werent really liked outside of populations where they were not a minority. They saw them as bad luck.

Other worldly maidens stealing husbands and children go as far north as Ireland.

No, the Si-Te-Cah or more commonly known as the Washoe people got along fine with their washoe neighbors. It wasnt until the, piute show up that there is a problem. The piute were invaders into washoe territory.
Re-internments of ancient washoe burial grounds show them to be a very large people, many skeletons were of people over 6' tall, while the piute are of much smaller stature, 5'-5'' on ave.
Examination of ancient remains from the regions cave burials show that the earlier people(washoe) were of a different ethnicity than the later shoshone/piute numic speakers.

(before you read I am dyslexic). I can speak about Hesiod since I am Greek. He gives prophecies about the end of this generations of humans, he doesn't speak about the iron generation values since his age. He complaints that the age he is born into, is considered as the 5th and he gives those signs till Father of All Zeus destroys this generation of humans...

So the key elements of his prophecies are

1) capitalism, humans will work work and without the right to enjoy any of their work their dids, their mind will always be filled with problems and debt and all the things we experience today (working stress, cancer, psychological problems, etc). People die because of it today. Is the number one threat for humans. 3000 years ago Hesiod era, nothing of all that was an issue.

2) worldwide debt, today when a baby comes into life, statistically owns money to the state. Also newly formed genetic illness such as progeria, babies come into life and die or they come like old men. Progeria first reported in the 19th century, the beginning of industrial life, working slaves, capitalism... one brings the other.

3)Human isolation, today kids and middle aged are staying home infront of a tv or a computer. Internet is the today social life for everybody, even if we are outside pretending to be "out in the real world" people are stuck in a mobile phone. This is linked to number 1 again, over-consumption of unnecessary materials. 1-3 gives lots of money to the pharma with people isolating themselves from the others, they become psychopaths.

4) impiety/irreverence the Childs or adults will be totally unrespectful to their parents/elders verbally and physically. This is an issue of the controlled corruption they promote to the humanity. An example is marriage in the ancient years you got married to fulfill (heritage, biological ancestors, obligation for your eir to care for you when you get old). Today all states stop protecting the children and they form different type of help for them when the children are really abused.. Today the parents are not obliged to their children, nor to the heritage of any physical possessions. They kick the children in the streets when they get 15 or 18 y old. Divorce is a trend and the lovers of fathers and mothers have more rights than their children! Its a logical result of a problem the corruptors distributed in the humanity.

5) corruption of political. religious, law, bankers system. All the liars, corruptors maggots of this planet earth took over and all the above is the result of their actions, controlled corruption so they can preserve themselves. Just think for a moment how the system works when they want to force bills that are against humanity and quality of life.. They create a war, or a huge accident or a huge event, people are looking west, while they secretly working and doing stuff in the east.. I hope you get how the thing works and it's not humans fault. Its a 100% controlled corrupted system that forces humans to corrupt in order to live or sustain.

Then Father Zeus will destroy this generation of humans. But fear not. Father loves his children and be certain that he already send some humans to live among us and when they go back, be able to tell him the truth.

Beyond that, we also have the sybillic prophecies, 8000 years ago. Sybille Airithrea gave the fate of the humanity till the return of the gods and the end of this tyranny. Because everything is related with the Yahweh and Saturn... the corruptors. An example is the myth of ADAM and EVA, Sybille Airithrea said : ADAM is the 4 corners of planet earth (ΑΔΑΜ) (Α)νατολη - (Δ)υση - (Α)ρκτος - (Μ)εσημβρια , this translates into east, west, north, south. EVA is the probabylonian name of the moon as L EVA N (levan).

All in all " Corruption in the 4 corners of planet earth till the fall of humanity" Its a promise of destruction, because of their hate, because they lost, because they got enslaved and most of them died. Its a proof for what we experience today, a controlled corrupted system that it seems externally that humans are corrupt, it is not.

The difference is, they burned most of the originals, they crafted the fake bronze books and they promote their false gods into them. The whole prophecies they try to use them for their end. But what about all the legends where prior civilizations were NOT destroyed (the Norse myths, for instance, and the Celts and Egyptians and so on) and where there's no myth of a universal flood (none in ancient Egypt --they recorded floods but not as global floods.)
