Looks like job growth and the general economy is getting better.

Unemployment "rate" down to 4.4%, best since 2007 !

So who's "fault" is it now?

U.S. job growth rebounds sharply, unemployment rate hits 4.4 percent

U.S. job growth rebounded sharply in April and the unemployment rate dropped to 4.4 percent, near a 10-year low, pointing to a tightening labor market that likely seals the case for an interest rate increase next month despite moderate wage growth.

Nonfarm payrolls surged by 211,000 jobs last month after a paltry gain of 79,000 in March, the Labor Department said on Friday. April's job growth, which was broad-based, surpassed this year's monthly average of 185,000.

There were hefty increases in leisure and hospitality, healthcare and social assistance as well as business and professional services payrolls.

Yeah, I work in the high level IT market and most places I know of are on a hiring freeze right now. I used to work for a large IT recruiting firm and have friends still in the business relaying this information. So its pretty credible.

I also have contractor buddies that haven't gotten a new contract for the last three months after having constant work for the past 5 years.

This is BS as usual.

The funniest part to me has been watching Trump crow about numbers like this. Because somehow, magically, the same sources used to compute the same stats that he claimed were false when Obama was in office must be right now--and therefore we should be thankful for the orange one...

Once you add places like Detoliet, baltimore, oakland, St loius ect ect then add all the rural unemployed.......

I bet these stats dont take into account the people who go on and off unemployment.
IE they do a few months work in insecure jobs then lose those jobs due to there transient nature.
Plus the welfare going into subsidizeing wages ect.

It doesn't really have anything to do with Trump being in office anyway. It was 4.6 last November and has been on a steady decline way before then.

The BS unemployment stats that is.

Many "unemployed" people are classified as "off the books".

They do not show up in some "reports".

Check the "U6" unemployment rate.

I already did the math long ago.

Those places need to let the other side of the political spectrum run things for a awhile.

Wanting a bunch of free stuff - no way to pay for it divided by strangling business equals snip load of unemployed people.

Unfortunately, don't these numbers work the way they did when "He" was in office?

Meaning they don't count those NOT getting unemployment anymore?

"The labor force participation rate, or the share of working-age Americans who are employed or at least looking for a job, fell to 62.9 percent from an 11-month high of 63 percent in March. It has rebounded from a multi-decade low of 62.4 percent in September 2015, and economists see limited room for further improvement as the pool of discouraged workers shrinks.

Construction payrolls rose by 5,000 last month and manufacturing payrolls increased by 6,000. Leisure and hospitality payrolls jumped by 55,000 in April. Professional and business services payrolls rose by 39,000. Healthcare and social assistance employment increased by 36,800.

Retail payrolls gained 6,300 after two straight months of declines. Retailers including J.C. Penney Co Inc (JCP.N), Macy's Inc (M.N) and Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF.N) have announced thousands of layoffs as they shift toward online sales and scale back on brick-and-mortar operations.

Government payrolls jumped by 17,000 last month as an increase in hiring by local governments offset a decline in federal government employment."

Majority of the jobs created are in Leisure and Hospitality.

We are going down the tubes fast.

This is one of the key elements of his persona and others like him. Take credit that's not yours and make it your own as if you are responsible. They write entire chapters in books over it.

We'll see what tune he is singing this fall when it all tanks.

If making America great again means that all the jobs created are minimum wage, then how great is that?

But hey....a job is a job, right?

Never give Trump credit, resurrected the coal industry, working to rid us of the joke obumercare, tax reform, bringing jobs back to the states, dealing with with terrorism and rouge nations heavy handedly, fulfilling campaign promises. But heck, don't give Trump any credit.
