Bacically he is saying that Sweden don't have enough soldiers, when we hade the voluntary recruiting not enough people wanted to join, so now they will make it mandetory for people born in the years 1999 and 2000 and I am guessing above that too.

It will cost Sweden 600 million SEK to recruit 5000 soldiers and train them.

They voted it to be mandotory since we do not have enough soldiers and to work together with other countries we need well trained soldiers and enough of them.

It says that they're considering it because volunteers have been low, but that Basic Training is mandatory again. But in reality it's because things are ramping up vs Russia, hence the foreign troops practicing a winter invasion...

If they are not swedish citizens they are not allowed to join.
However if they are swedish citizens, religion is not something we care about. Because we do not stamp all muslims as bad people as some americans seem to do.

You mean common sense vetting? I don't care about religion but I do care about letting millions of self proclaimed refugees into my country without knowing their background

I say make these migrants join and help them assimilate into the Swedish culture.

Very few Americans (relative to the population overall) stamp all Muslims as bad people. Stop listening to crap that tells you differently. There are many, many Muslims in the American armed forces...I had the pleasure to serve with quite a few, along with all other religious affiliations other than Christian.

I have 2 friends who both went through National Service in Sweden and enjoyed it immensely, both have done very well in life, both are absolutely fine gentlemen and very dependable, both came to Australia and were snapped up for their trades, the work ethic is high, the sense of humor is typical army, you would trust them with your life.

If they are an example of what Sweden can make through National Service, then it will be a better country for it.

I also have a cousin who did National Service in Switzerland, its no big deal because everyone does it, he loved it too.

I assume that peacetime National Service is less about beasting humans into robots and more about having the skills to be called on should the need arise.

Sweden, one of the whitest of white countries, super successful, the shining beacon to all the socialists in the USA on how we should be, only to almost instantly have your lives flipped upside down due to this mass refugee influx, only to also reinstate mandatory military service all of a sudden to a country near the Russian boogeyman n recently contested Arctic. And citizen laws won't mean jack during a state of war. Very convenient conscription is your inconvenient truth.
