Insurance that covered pre-existing conditions was available before ObamaCare. The difference between then and now, was that taxpayers didn't help low/middle income people afford it.

Congress allowed the "Public Option" to be in 23 states. Only 2 are left. The others went bankrupt due to bad management and wonderful coverage.. the sickest people signed up, and drained every dime. One guy had a $17 million hospital bill.

He is going to be in Cape Canaveral this weekend for the SpaceX Falcon 9 launching, and then visit some citizens in Melbourne at a rally type event in the area. Florida is not very wide across. I know some people want to make it seem like he is just in Florida for fun and games, but he is merely stopping for a break between his official meetings and appearances in the same state. Working men do get days off you know, even the President.

1. The White House is a security nightmare.
It's right in the middle of a metropolis. It's visible from every direction. Eventually, someone will point a rocket-grenade or a light anti-tank weapon at the WH and it'll be lights out. That's the reason O'bama golfed to so much--the SS encouraged him to spend as many days away from the WH as possible. Obama discontinued the public tours of the white house at NSA insistence, and you'll notice that's one executive order DJ Trump isn't overturning. You just can't let foreign spies take a tour of your headquarters, planting bugs and drawing maps and taking GPS readings all day long. Traffic is hell in downtown DC, and you cannot get a foreign dignitary to 1600 pennsylvania ave. without literally the whole world knowing about it, and having a clear field of fire for at the limousine parade.

From an operational standpoint, it cost fewer secret service hours to host the Japanese prime miinister in a private club in Florida.

All the telocom lines are hopelessly compromised-- are the Russian listening? Hell, the Belgians and the Mexicans have the White House bugged. you cannot get a line out because there's a bottleneck of evesdroppers.

2. The White House is uncomfortable
It's too small for the POTUS and VP's secretaries, plus the press corp, plus the "war room" which W basically had dug under the existing building. Nonethless, the part the British burned in the war of 1812 makes the whole thing smell like ashes every time it rains. The kitchen is too small for state dinners, and food has to be catering in off-site every time. Hell, most days the white house staff can't even get fed from the WH kitchen. The building is a drain on the efficiency of white house staff, totally apart from the office of POTUS

The situation room is small than the bridge of the starship Enterprise. If you wan't to run a crisis, you do that from the Pentagon, not the white house.

3. The White House is boring
The first family cannot go out on the lawn for fear of getting shot at. They cannot go shopping, since there is no retail nearby: only a few blocks away is where the serious hood starts. So they are stuck in a smell old drafty mansion from the 1790's, and cannot even go out for coffee or a morning jog without causing an incident (Clinton). There is nothing to do and no one to visit. No wonder the first families hate it so.

Truman didn't live in the white house. I don't think the Kennedys or Obama kids did either. Why should trump?

okay, I admit the expenses for his family are just a drop in the bucket. Being a billionaire and all I figured he could cover the extra costs of that situation. Lead by example and all, like not taking a salary to save taxpayer money.

I wouldn't have a problem with Malania and her son staying in New York until school was out IF the Trumps were picking up the cost instead of the American tax payer. I know in my life when I'd ran two households because of job location and kids in school my husband and I had to pay for two residences and the expenses incurred by doing so. I should expect no less from a billionaire ( that the only tax return we've seen showed he didn't pay any taxes). Sorry I'm just not into rich people welfare no matter what party they are.

That was a vacation, this is a weekly routine. tRump is on vacation every weekend from the get go, I've never seen a President do this.
