The suspect shouldn't be taken for his word until after a proper psych evaluation. If the suspect is actually cia, he's not making it out of the psych eval.

How do you do imagine that "psyche evaluations" validate for "CIA"?

By "making it out", I am assuming that you mean "passing some test".

WTF are you talking about?

Just what would that criteria be? Hallucinating ISIS maybe, on top of anger issues?

Suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, or grave disability. Those are the big three.

Hallucinations, paranoia, clanging, flights of ideas, loose associations, fascination with patterns, hoarding, having to close doors three times, thinking that people are stalking you, ideas of reference, personal fable, thinking that people on TV are talking about YOU in particular and so on are not grounds for arrest.

They could have gave him directions.

To the mental hospital of course.

They can call local law enforcement to handle the dirty work.

They'd have to. But the guy wasn't, apparently, violent. Just nuts. And when they pulled up his discharge, they'd have seen that it wasn't new.

And Esteban would have to take those directions...

Why?

You'll learn this later, but we will tell you this here, on ATS, now (Hans and Franz.):

26 is an advanced age for paranoid schiz.

You are making presumptions upon laws that do not exist in America. Do you wish them to be?

America created Steve.

We have to suck it up and accept the responsibility.

You up for that?

???

And you'd imagine that there is a framework to support such a thing.

Is there?

I'm a newb.

I have personally witnessed Information Operations, formerly known as PsyOps in the works...this reeks of it!

There are no random acts of violence.

Everything has a reason and a purpose.

Covert Ops are just hard to figure out.

What could be the goal of this shooting?

Why control the mind of this individual and turn him into a shooter?

Who benefits?

If he was calm about all of it and not acting too nuts, yes they legally couldn't do anything, except flag him and keep an eye on him because of the Isis comments and wait for something to happen.

My experience with schizophrenia was a dangerous one. Had to pull a John Rambo to help a friend. He's good now, medicated. It hit him in his mid 20s.

Edit : saw your other post.... Man if he was cia he's not leaving anywhere alive. We'll never see a trial. Cia agents and assets are pawns on the chess board.

If he was employed by the Agency, they could verify it to the Feebs in a few seconds.

But it's like the people that think they're being stalked with laser beams from satellites. Yeah, the government COULD spend billions of dollars to kill you, but if they really wanted you dead, it's only a nickel to pop you with a sidearm, and it's a lot more verifiable.

Yeah, he COULD be mind controlled by the CIA. Or, he's nuts. The elaborate James Bond laser in the crotch 'no Mr Bond I expect you to die' things are sort of unlikely, compared to just having a bad case of schizophrenia with hallucinations.

It would have increased the probability for him to get the help he needed by knowing which way to go.

The political discussion is now over increasing gun control and mental health regulations. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the laws being proposed contain ambiguous text that designates political dissent grounds for being institutionalized.

The gun issue is being covered, UN small arms treaty will render the second amendment useless.

Whatever the cause, I'm also concerned about the reaction in terms of draconian policy measures.

Regardless of whether he was crazy or manipulated....

5 People are Dead.....5 families are in distress.

Who is going to take responsibility for that?

Or, does anyone need too?

Politicians always seem to feel they have to do something.

I recall some movie where Morgan Freeman's character was asked by some other character "How do you prevent this from ever happening again?", to which Freeman replied "You can't".

And it's true. There's no way to keep stupid crap from happening, except the trivial solutions. You can minimize it, but # happens. There's often no practical way to stop it totally.

America needs to take responsibility for that.

It's the only way.

Who else would we ask?

We need to own it.

So yes.

Us.

I can't take any argument against draconian policy measures seriously as long as it includes anything regarding "small arms".

There's no logic in that.

We both know why. right?
