So Nevada has a referendum on gun background checks for private purchases.

It barely passes and some people rejoice.

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg put $20 million into the project.

Now the FBI says wait because of something that seems to be missing.

Possibly a royal screw-up. Or was it an intentional set-up?

Oops. Bloomberg’s $20M gun control bid in Nevada has fallen apart

It was almost the perfect plan. And if it weren’t for those darned kids at the FBI, Michael Bloomberg might have gotten away with it.

By all accounts, the billionaire dropped at least $20M through his various anti-Second Amendment groups in an effort to get Ballot Question 1 passed in Nevada. The proposal would require virtually all private transfers of gun ownership to be contingent on an FBI background check. And on election day, the measure passed. Great news for gun grabbers, right?

Well… it was. That is to say, things were looking good until the FBI came along and said they wouldn’t be participating in the program. (RGI)

n a statement, the attorney general’s office said, “without this central feature (the FBI background check), the Background Check Act cannot commence.”

Awe shucks.

Nice to see fascists FAIL for a change.

This is sweet justice.

Las Vegas was the ONLY PLACE to vote for that ridiculous law. It is unenforceable and turns law abiding citizens into criminals for common legal practices. Now they are talking about magazine bans. You give liberals an inch and they will take a mile.

Its a wake up call.

The ballot initiative won by 50.45% to 49.55%, with 558,631 votes in favor and 548,732 opposed. That's a difference of 9,899 votes.

50.45% decided to vote their RIGHT away.

Rather sad.

Bloomberg should have given me 10 million.
I would have spent 1 million on a gun buy back program, gotten more guns off the street and saved his dumb ass 10 million dollars.

I'd do for 9 million.

And if I did it, I would have kept the guns that I bought.

Fair enough.

Open a store and sell them back to the sellers when they need one again. Get that million back.

I would imagine the buy programs mostly net crappy weapons. Have you ever seen info on that point?

I saw a news report about a woman that brought an Stg 45 in to a buy back program. Her husband had brought it back from Germany after the 2nd World War.
Most are not worth the money that is paid for them, but occasionally a gem comes in.
Sorry.
It was an Stg 44 worth 30 grand.

Just wait ... if you need a background check, and you can't get one .. someone will argue that means you can't get a gun at all now.

That's what I was hearing on the talk radio show out here. They drafted a law that involved using a large amount of resources via the FBI without actually asking the FBI if they could.

It's good, because it was a pretty stupid law.

It's literally one of the only 2 things I voted for this year, no on 1 yes on 2.

right and the FBI is financed by taxpayers in every state but this law was just a state law and they want the rest of the states to foot the bill for enforcing their law.
if they really want to keep their law then let them tax their citizens more to pay for more FBI agents to do the checks.
