Yes..Russia hacked the DNC...No.. the DNC is not a government agency, it is private...just like the RNC, the Green Party et al. The US government does not manage or run Presidential or congressional candidates campaigns.
In the end the DNC worked hard to prevent The Burn from winning when they saw him gaining momentum, isn't that something you would have liked to know about? Also it is very likely that Hillary was fed questions.... something else one would like to know about.
If the Russians did it then they got info from a DNC insider(s) in the first place, so the Russians might have been the tool used but not the reason. Even Wikileaks is hard set in saying the Russians were not the primary party in the exposure of the emails.

They also released DNC donor personal info and CC numbers etc. ...which no doubt was aimed at dampening contributions.
Safe to say...They found equally salacious if not more damaging stuff when they hacked RNC and GOP Operatives, PACs etc.
The idea that hackers would have to know what they would find before hacking is 110% illogical. That is not how hacking works.
Then why wasn't the RNC hacked also

Every country spies and hacks...But NO they do not conduct hacking/cyber campaigns with the aim of influencing the electoral process.

IT WAS...and that is the worrisome thing...Not just the RNC, but GOP "Political Operatives" and potentially congressman.
Past congressional scandals have included predilections for young boys, closeted homosexuality, extra-marital affairs and boring old financial fraud and corruption...

I'd be surprised if they didn't at least try to do it , I can see several reasons why a Trump Presidency would be good for Russia.

My understanding, from speaking often with former students who have returned to Russia, is that they have far more "sides" than do we. I think there are four or five represented in national legislature. They have more choices when it comes to representation. The restrictions on the Orthodox church have been removed and Putin has made it okay to be a person of faith in a higher power. I'm not sure whether that would be considered fundamentalist or not.
I fully agree that neither Putin nor Trump wants war. No sane person wants war. Trump has more reasons than most of us not to want war since his business depends on people being able to travel freely and spend time enjoying themselves in their leisure time. I understand that it is people who are investing in warmongering who are attempting to push the buttons that would make them money. I also understand that some of those folks probably contributed to the Trump campaign but since he spent mostly his own money, I don't really see how they could have a lot of influence over him.
I understand why the banksters want war and why they hate Putin. But again, they have largely lost their influence so despite my uncertainty about what sort of leader the Donald will be, it would seem that at least some of influence of those folks has been lost to them. Yeah, they probably own most of the Congress critters but Congress has turned over the business of war-making to the president so maybe that's a good thing.
China? China is a communist country. I don't see how we can unite with them any more than we can unite with other countries who condone slavery.
WHY did the Russians do it????
