Debbie Reynolds - Mother of Carrie Fisher Dead at 84

Well, this x-mas a family lost two of its members.

Debbie Reynolds, the Oscar-nominated singer-actress who was the mother of late actress Carrie Fisher, has died at Cedars-Sinai hospital. She was 84.

I'm not sure if I should be embarrassed or not by this, but I don't know Debbie Reynolds. (I was born in '82.)

All the same, what heartache for the family!

She is Carrie Fishers mom.

I have seen this happen many times.

I think Carrie may have grabbed Mum as she went passed.

Or of course, the death of a child is simply too much to bear.

Bad year for this ... or do all of these icons know something we don't.

Same boat kinda, not that familiar but know of "Singin' in the Rain" (1952).

Heartache, Indeed so, RIP.

A shame. But that's life.

Remember: there aren't too many dying celebrities, there are just too many celebrities period.

Let's hope the story is straight. It's already beeen subjectively given as a hoax as Tuesday.

To add to that, the same site, 'Mediamass' appears to be a hoax site in itself. Shiite people really.

no...that was zsa zsa gabor.....the adopted son died the same day as zsa zsa but her husband the count thought he was in germany and just finally got the news

Carrie's mom was talented, gorgeous and as smart as they
come: one notch before the rest called her strange.
They not only broke the mold when He made her, they lost
the drawings. She might indeed have died from a broken heart.

I think Phoenix may be onto something-- in that they just might
know something we don't. After how many huge losses of
adorable people this year, hope I don't find out what it is.

I hope she and Eddie are splitting a bottle of bubbly right now.

it is all over the place...there are pics of the red emergency vehicle outside her house, tod had released a statement....she is gone

the last thing she said before she had the stroke was "I want to be with carrie"

I don't even know the stars of today. But years ago I knew Debbie Reynolds and her marriage to Eddie Fisher who divorced her to marry Elizabeth Taylor.

Debbie Reynolds was always the girl next door. Seems she stayed that way all her life.

Prayers for the remaining family. God awful hard week.

The mother-child bond can be profound. Wow ... this is heartbreaking but also sort of beautiful.

Prayers for their loved ones left behind.

This is heartbreaking-the bond between them was so strong. I loved Debbie Reynolds-always smiling-so beautiful and talented-a big reason I love old movies. I totally understand how Debbie felt-earth shattering pain. I don't think I could survive the death of one of my children either. I am deeply sad tonight-I loved Carrie but Debbie was special to me personally. This is a hard night.

Sad it should happen during Christmas week.

Thoughts are with the son she was living with and the granddaughter.

According to her son, Todd Fisher , her last words were that she wanted to be with Carrie.
So sad for the family.

RiP Ms Reynolds.

Celebrity news site TMZ reports that Reynolds cracked while discussing plans for Carrie's funeral with her son, telling him: "I miss her so much; I want to be with Carrie."
