But if a private company voluntarily chooses to suppress peoples First Amendment Rights then I choose not to support the company... and I encourage other red blooded Americans to do the same!!! No....that is a false argument and hyperbole on your part. Where did I ever say that a private business can refuse service? Nowhere. I said a private business can legally censor speech....period. Taking the leap to unconstitutionality is beneath you IMO. Certain attributes of a U.S. citizen are protected against discrimination, which is what you are referring to in your post. Censoring speech is not discriminating against any of those protected attributes....none.

I'll give you an example. A person could enter a business and begin spouting openly racist remarks. The business owner is well within their rights to ask them to leave. However if that same racist entered the business, and simply ordered a service, while not mentioning any racial remarks, but was asked to leave because the owner didn't like the color of their skin, that would be illegal. The business owner cannot discriminate based upon attributes. Free speech, however, can be legally suppressed in a private business or on private property.

That same speech cannot be prevented on public or government property however.

Big difference there.

if you agree to their End user agreement, they can block whatever they want.

if you want 'alternative media (or 'news) ', just stay where they flourish. dont bring it to face book. just flock with alternative media enthusiasts in the preferable internet cocoons.

it's all well and good to say "Just don't use facebook!" - I've been saying that since social media became a thing, and have never held an account on any of those kinds of sites...

But to be fair, I can easily say that 9 out of 10 people live in the facebook world- that's where they get all of their information, save for whatever they hear on the radio/tv.

Your average person isn't looking to be informed about what's going on, they're happy in their little bubble of entertainment.

Now, we know the TV and Radio won't give you any truths these days- so all that's left is the internet for the vast majority of people.
And now, the top ten or so things people consider to be the entire internet are working together to censor anything they don't want getting out to the public.

Combine this with the last fifty years of psyops to convince the average person that anyone who questions the official story is a nutter, and you've got a whole lot of unaware and compliant citizenry within another ten years.

It's legal to censor the internet in this way- but it's not right. "we the people", the people of the internet, should be outraged.

It remains to be seen how effective Google’s new policy on fake news will be in practice. The policy will rely on a combination of automated and human reviews to help determine what is fake. The burden, is not upon me here. It is upon the one making the claim.....you. If it is merely your opinion, that and a few bucks will buy me a cup of coffee. In simpler terms, it is just as worthless as my opinion.

If people begin to flee Facebook, great....all the power to them. If enough leave out of the BILLIONS of users, perhaps Zuck will reconsider. MY guess is it will be the effect of a light dusting of snow on your car in the winter. Facebook is adding a new feature wherein a group that the Washington Post calls an ‘independent third party fact checker’ will decide whether stories are real or fake, and flag ones the group decides are fake.

WaPo leaves out of its report that the ‘independent fact checker’, the Poynter International Fact-Checking Network, receives funding from a US government-funded group, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), which award-winning, independent journalist Robert Parry and author William Blum document was created to perform tasks previously performed by the CIA.

NED was created when “[t]he Agency was getting an exceedingly bad name, and it was causing the powers-that-be much embarrassment”, notes Blum.

Parry notes that CIA director William Casey helped establish NED as a “U.S. government-funded organization” to “support groups inside foreign countries that would engage in propaganda [ie fake news] and political action that the CIA had historically organized and paid for covertly”, including “regime change”. At the time of the group’s creation, Casey ensured that “the language barring the participation of CIA personnel” was “struck from the bill”.
