Rural Democrats: Party Ignored Us

The democrats lost me when they started taxing me $30 a year for owning a septic tank, taxing me $30 a year to take a crap? sorry democrats but that`s just way too much big government for me.
Have the democrats lost touch with rural americans? a $30 a year tax to take a crap says: HELL YEAH! they have!

say what you will about the republicans but at least they never taxed me to take a crap.

It's quite sad actually. There are those who expect everyone to do something for "them"; there is no onus to do something for "themselves". It seems it's everyone "elses's" fault, but they take no ownership.

It is a mentality, a sense of "entitlement"; that they should "deserve" something they have not earned.

And, there is a party which supports this mind-set...and they've lost. Why? Because the mind-set is not sustaining; it doesn't work.

What I have tried to point out in the OP is some areas where the democratic party can reclaim some of their lost vote. It falls on lost and violent ears. They don't want to work, they want to stir up trouble and create violence to make their point. The rest of the World sits back and watches their antics and wonders how they ever got as far as they did in puplic opinion. But, it takes none other than a glance at countries like Greece to tell the story, Italy even, perhaps France too. Welfare and socialism doesn't work. It just doesn't. Certainly not in the long term. Not even the short term.

No, but we see so many just truly mad and hateful people who lash out at nothing, no facts...just ideology.

How truly sad.

And...the saddest part of all is, the MSM supports this misguided mentality.

But it worked so well in the manifesto, and the theory feels like that is the way people should be. We just have to ignore history, human nature, and reality in general.

This thread is revealing something that is very unsettling for things to come. There will be a major push to get rid of the electoral college, to be replaced by true democracy. If we are going to talk archaic systems, democracy pre-dates republics. There is a reason we aren't pure democracy, it doesn't end well when the majority becomes too easily influenced by demagogues and voting for free stuff. I would argue the court of public opinion is the first sign we are moving in that direction, which has historically(and currently) led to an aristocratic oligarchy.

The democrat party is doing more than just ignoring the rural folk, they view themselves as superior in every way. I believe our little Weimar Republic is coming to a close. Someday soon, one of these oligarchs will just decide to stay in power indefinitely, the way things are going.
