hey all. i am in need of a good gps navigator for android. free would be most awesome but i will pay a few bucks if need be.

the only requirement i really need is the voice part. i am going to be delivering pizza so i would like to have my phone mounted on the dash so he gps can tell me where to go by voice.
i looked in the play store and there are just so many to choose from. i did not know which one to choose. they all have a lot of downloads and most have decent reviews but i dont really trust that. for all i know those reviews are padded by the app developer.

i know there are some serious techies here so i am leaning on you all to recommend one for me.

thank you very much

I use google maps all the time with very little trouble.

Eta. Keep the phone plugged into the charger. Mine drains fast if I don't.

Google maps is your best bet.

My older model phone has been giving me trouble with Google maps for months- but it used to work great.

Note that it chews up data. There's an option to download and cache map data, but I don't know how well it works.

Unanimously Google maps.

It even keeps traffic in mind and will give you a faster route.

To be honest, they are all pretty much the same.
They all run off the same Sat. system and will have a +/- error of 2-5 meters.
The only way your going to get better then that is if you buy an RTK system - which is used for survey.

Depends how much storage you have and I'd you are doing one city or further. It never really killed me on data though.

You should be able to find a garmin or tom tom gps cheap too. Amazon!
You don't need to worry about data usage as mentioned above.

I use this one.
www.amazon.com...=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1480201273&sr=8-5&keywords=Gps

Nothing fancy, just reliable and free map updates for life.

I agree with the others on using Google maps (works for me), and also said keep it on charge and it can eat up data/battery.

I was going to throw in another vote for Google Maps too. My younger brother is a big fan of Waze. Waze has real-time community updates about everything from accidents and disabled vehicles to the location of cops clocking for speeders.

Yeah...I use google maps, all day...came with phone. Satelitte views even shows you what the house looks like...and goes down to street view where you can ride up and down to the address, and pass it etc.
Also point to point directions and tons more things. Didnt pay anything for it....

i use waze its the best in the UK

YMMV - as its highly dependant on the community feedback and the mapping licence it has - so in other countries it could be sub par

R2D2 if You're only going to get one. C3PO if looking for a pair..

EDIT: R2D2 could also keep the pizzas warm... Anything to the reports from CNN™ and other "news" outlets about Pizza Employees from throughout the world walking off their jobs because of "Pizza Gate"?
