There are dozens of videos of incredibly stupid stunts by Ukrainian pilots. They always try to get just that much lower than the last guy.

looks like a clear cut case of the vodkas to me.

'Stupid stunts' aside, its also a combat maneuver two jets might use to gain the advantage on a single fighter attacking from behind...

Ever took a hopper on a C-130 back in the "old days"? Those pilots were the best. But I think insanity was the most important qualification.....

I had this pilot my recon squad flew with out of Cp Stanley, Korea ,who did NOE flights,I DO beg to differ about that sanity bar folks...

I knew a guy that was on a Herc that was on a hill. The only way to get airborne was to drop off into nothing, fall and get fast enough to fly, and hope you had enough room to not go crunch.

True enough.

But when they do a wing over to hit that little tiny hole in the clouds, and the ceiling is something on the order of 100 feet, I can be forgiven for wondering about their sanity...

My first coherent thought upon getting safely onto the ground, rather than crashing into said ground was "I'm not dead?", followed closely by "You crazy bastard!!", only louder.

But I flew with him several other times, and every time, he did something borderline insane... DeHavilland Otter's are incredible planes.

I was more "THIS IS new" when I had to hold down my M60 in the air from across my lap.
He KNEW about the hills and cliffs there.
He sure was good at flaring too.
