You are a bit reversed... The US population is about 324 million. The EU populations is about 510 million.

The west has no plans yo attack Russia, let alone invade or try to annex Russia. That is an unrealistic threat Putin uses to justify his rhetoric.'

I still think he is having behind th4e scenes power struggles and the focus on the west is to distract russians from internal problems.

im having a hard time understanding your view of whats happening. how is russia in the wrong here? what do you think happened to cause the current state of politics?

The west is providing humanitarian and non lethal assistance to Ukraine. Russia invaded Georgia and Ukraine, not the west. Ukraine and Georgia want to join NATO specifically to prevent what already occurred - Russia invading them - again. Because apparently the first 50+ years of Soviet (and now Russian) occupation wasnt enough for Putin.

NATO is a defensive alliance. It was formed to counter Soviet aggression and that was justified when it became apparent the USSR had no intentions of leaving the E. European countries when WWII ended.

Russia was a member of NATO's partners for peace program until recently. Apparently Putin had no issues with the west or NATO until recently. Putins actions are exactly why NATO is still around and its why nations formerly occupied by the USSR / Russia want to join.

I find it funny that Putin will state nations are free to join what ever entity they wish... so long as its Russia led.

If NATO / the West is so evil and Russia so righteous then why did the nations Russia occupied / former warsaw pact members run towards NATO membership once the USSR collapsed? Using your logic why is Russia a member of BRICS. Why cant they be a part of the current global trade pacts / EU?
