It's Hillary's server. If that was compromised (Commey said no way to know)

Hillary's camp going with the 'it was the Russians' story may end being a problem for her.

IF Wikileaks dumps the 33,000 emails as they say they will.... then she will have to admit that the Russians hacked her server... which she denies having happened.

It is a problem for sure if those are released. It would show her server was hacked, something she keeps denying and would give Commey confirmation. He said the FBI did not know but possible. How would he upgrade the "extremely careless" statement. Maybe extremely careless that caused extreme damage...like I said we will likely never know the extent of the damage if those emails are released. If Assange was smart he would have also printed out hard copies and sent instructions on where they are. The NSA is probably locking everything down digitally from those getting out.

I know I might take heat for saying this but, I think the end justifies the means. Also, why would any lives be in danger in the first place? How else do you propose we keep the government transparent?

The candle is burning at both ends.

It's not very likely the DNC leaks compromised someone. It's Hillary's server. If that was compromised (Commey said no way to know) and got people killed we would never find out about it or at least not anytime soon. It may be divulged a decade or so later maybe not.....way to damaging for Hillary and anyone else involved. People would want some serious justice.

Half the previous administration had private servers. That's why the hillary scandals are a hard sell. They are normal operating procedures for Washington.

You mean like when Secretary Clinton used the real names of undercover agents in an unsecured email. Those agents had to abandon thier covers and run for their lives, some did not make it.
So unsecured emails have cost American lives, but Wikileaks is not the problem, Secretary Hillary Clinton is the problem.

What if the politicians send soldiers to another country for a phony war? I'm all for accountability but I'm quite sure the media has also helped the agenda of perpetuating a fake war with many casualties..what if...

If they died pursuing the truth they should be considered a hero...if some murders someone because they told the truth they should be in jail..

What if the failure to release such emails gets even more people killed?

Wiki leaks have not claimed to have hacked hillarys server. No one has proof it was ever hacked.

These are state dept emails.

They have said that they have the 33,000 emails. They didn't say that they hacked them.

This is a much more realistic prospect than the idea of them being killed as a result of the leaks.

A government whose nefarious activities are under scrutiny, will find it necessarily harder to do things that the people disagree with, and rightly so. Perhaps, rather than next years superbowl, the people should spend their time watching the various regional headquarters of the FBI, CIA, the NSA building in Utah with the data centre in it.

Perhaps making the government the spectator sport its been played up as, but in a very intrusive and utterly all consuming manner, would make the idiots think twice before EVER daring to demand your attention again!

How can anyone say this with confidence. All the security in the world isnt ever 100% effective. Me thinks if tptb were "your people" you wouldnt be so cavalier to throw blame to people or offices that you have no idea about.

This is akin to complaining that your house got burglarized because you left the front door wide open and went on vacation.

These are government officials, they need to keep their sh*t secure.

If by releasing the emails and preventing her from taking office, would that save more lives? Or would releasing them and she still get in office save lives because she would be under more scrutiny? Is knowing more about the type of people in the government (and don't assume republican emails would be any cleaner at all) going to cause people to make a more informed decision, or just continue to blindly follow the two party campaign that is ingrained?

The emails have opened a few eyes to corruption in the media/government. Not a lot, but some.

Now, if they were to release say recovered emails from her server, that were classified and gave away recent or relevant information that could/would impact lives of our military or personal, then yeah, that would be wrong, and there would be much more of an uproar from the government over the dissemination of the emails. As is, it is just more signs of corruption that people either known, don't know, care or don't care about.

The govt compromises infinitely more lives by repeatedly sending those people into dangerous areas in the first place, by choosing war over diplomacy and by generally being morally bankrupt and corrupt.

It's a slippery slope when the people in power get to arbitrarily decide which truths are dangerous and which aren't. Maybe if they stopped lying all the damn time the truth wouldn't seem so scary to them.

Your point in general is very correct and applicable, during the second world war the phrase "Loose Lip's Sink Ship's" was coined to try to stop service personel from talking about there duties to family members, girlfriend's and acquaintance's where that information could then be mined by German or Japanese intelligence.

It is no less applicable in today's world as vital intelligence or even mundane seeming information can be used when in the wrong hand's to plan attack's or for those wrong hand's to escape allowing them to cause future harm.

BUT

We all in the west (I am in England) rely upon our intelligence service's to be working for us not against us and sometime's they go too far in what they do so there is a very vital role for whistle blower's to play were the intelligence service's fail to self regulate or the potential for abuse of there power which of course does inevitably happen so in this whistle blowers are acting to protect us against those that are supposed to be the one's protecting us, in essence they are a form of Self regulation in these agency's but one that is officially frowned upon and come's from the whistle blowers own concern's rather than check's and balances which the particular agency's or authority have therefore circumvented.

It is however a very fine line between being a whistle blower and becoming a traitor and one that is very grey and indistinct indeed.

Personally I believe many of them are courageous and decent well intention-ed individual's with only the best interest's at heart whom have been pushed by the conflict between there job's and there own morality into the action's they then take and indeed such men and woman are the very thing that should be protecting us as they are not the one's whom will abuse it.

But some go too far, wiki leaks' for all it's kudos may have caused several hundred or even thousand's of death's though in it's defense it may also have saved hundred's of thousand's of people and even prevented war or escalation by changing the political climate by informing the people.

From your perspective as a US citizen though is it not in your constitution that the Citizen's should be informed about all matter's as that is the basis of a democracy and by knowing they can choose?, or is democracy only ever an ideal and not a fact.

Play with fire, risk getting burned. I admit I would happily watch some of these devils burn, especially mass murderers like H.R.C.

The Incompetence of those who are not Worthy of Leading must be Determined by a Higher Power , in this case , the People who Bestow upon them the Authority within the Government . The United States Federal Government Cannot Afford to have people of Questionable Character , and a Ignorance of Duties in Important Decision Making Positions , without Suffering the Eventual Negative Outcome of that . America did not become the Most Powerful Nation on Earth by having Fools set Policies . If those Elected to Secure the Nation are Unable to , then they Must be Replaced for the Good of the Nation . The Idea of a Communication Network called the " Internet " was Conceived here , Safeguards Against it somehow being Compromised to the Point of being a Threat to National Security should have been thought of and in Place at it's Inception , wouldn't you Think ? As Technology progresses , so should the Ability to Counteract any Threats it might pose to what was First Established .
