Stalking clown folklore appears to be part of the “Stranger Danger” moral panic of the 1980s.
Another curious aspect is that the children always seem to get away. On the one hand, the clowns are extremely adept at making their getaway. On the other hand, they appear to be totally incompetent at nabbing their prey.
I reckon it's now safe to assume that these are acts of terrorism. Dressing up as clowns and runing about with knives, machetes?

Nope, clowns with knifes are weapons of mass distraction. Deep state PsyOps maybe? Embrace the fear and crap your pants, our global Nanny State will keep us save with new anti-prank laws!

It's still what it is, pranks with one case of a knife attack. As in: 1 wounded, nobody dead. Amirite? Geez. Don't tell your niece how many people die in traffic accidents then, she'll never use a car again!!!
Clown-terror, I need a new pair of pants now.
Really? What is this, unconscious Newspeak prank or part of the mind#? Tell me your story, I'm all ears now.
