There was a report in the news today - little close to home...

Man slashed by clown

I reckon it's now safe to assume that these are acts of terrorism. Dressing up as clowns and runing about with knives, machetes?

Too far, we can no longer make the distinction between terrorist and clown. How are people supposed to react to this?

If anyone reading is thinking about doing this...please get a grip of yourself, don't go there. This ain't gonna end well for the clowns. They're cowards, no better than jihadist, in fact they're worse.

Your typical terrorist will admit what they did, will expose themselves after they do their dirty deeds which is kinda the point when it comes to scoring their lame political points. Here, we have idiots thinking they're super cool, funny, hilarious - scaring children, literaly terrorising our communities, our kids.

They're a lot closer to home than isis are right now, only an idiot would have found this funny outwith the current climate.

Just thought I'd chime in with that and see what others' have to say, and hopefully...stop a few monkeys from seeing and doing.

It's not cool, or funny, it's retarded, stupid....and very dangerous.

Only a matter of time before this is hijacked by some serious terrorists with an actual axe to grind.

I agree that this is not very cool of people to be doing and it's blurring the line between light hearted scare prank and genuine terrorist vibes. I know it's happening but I'm not following the story too closely. I'm honestly a little surprised we haven't heard about someone blowing the head off one of these pranksters.

I have a feeling a viral social media picture of some bumpkin and a 12 gauge holding a decapitated clown head by its fuzzy orange hair might send a message that the joke is over.

Smashing fake heads in dark places and chasing the people with axes and chainsaws is not "light hearted prank".

And you´re right with that, basically they do not prank people, they terrorize them. Because I bet terror is what most feel when they run away, not fun.

Yeah, it actually winds me up to no end, that people happily jump on the bandwagon.

I can picture it now...John, john, what are you doing...is that a clown suit, John?

A-hee-hee...yeah, hee! So funny, hee! i saw someone else do it and it was soooooo funny! A-hee-hee.

That's the image it conjures up for me, a blank canvas. An organic portal who becomes what he sees, no originality, unfunny, probably likes family guy.

All very negative qualities.

This makes me think of a post I read recently stating that ISIS pretty much made an announcement to all their lone jihadists to pretty much terrorize the public with knife attacks in wooded areas, parks, residential streets. Maybe some of these violent clowns are jihadists enacting psychological and domestic warfare??

I never heard that threat to be honest but nothing would surprise me...it's certainly sinister. We could speculate well into the wee hours but we'd surely be attacked and called awful names.

Good call, though. If you've any links regarding that I'd very much appreciate. I'll have a sniff about and see if I can turn anything up, but you could be onto something there. they seem a little too aggressive according to reports, for them all to be pranksters.

The entire Clown community needs to be taken down, asap.

It's an absolutely ridiculous craze.

Clown Panic of the 80's

Stalking clown folklore appears to be part of the “Stranger Danger” moral panic of the 1980s.

Another curious aspect is that the children always seem to get away. On the one hand, the clowns are extremely adept at making their getaway. On the other hand, they appear to be totally incompetent at nabbing their prey.

I can't wait for the authorities to start banning clown costumes and clown products.

And when the brownshirts do ban them, the little people will cheer.

title typo! stealing you own thunder.

These threads tend to not mention the 'killer clown prank' backstory. There's tons of videos on youtube.

Nope, clowns with knifes are weapons of mass distraction. Deep state PsyOps maybe? Embrace the fear and crap your pants, our global Nanny State will keep us save with new anti-prank laws!

Lol...you know I never even noticed. I'm rather ashamed.

I've found videos on YouTube regarding these clowns as far back as 2015...very odd video about clowns and black goo, I'll try and find it.

We had a recent incident where clowns broke into 3 homes and police advised folks to keep their doors locked. What the hell is going on with people today, they are all going crazy!

It could be a psy-op, heard a few theories like that. But it's still terrorism, if kids are living in fear, and from her online rambling my neice is definitely worried about this and her friends are, too. It's terrorism either way and it's utterly deplorable.

Yeah, just search youtube for 'clown prank'. I had happened to come across them for the first time the day before I first saw one of these stories this year. There's some good pranks, and spinoff costume pranks like the "Mortal Kombat Elevator Prank" is a good one.

It's still what it is, pranks with one case of a knife attack. As in: 1 wounded, nobody dead. Amirite? Geez. Don't tell your niece how many people die in traffic accidents then, she'll never use a car again!!!

Clown-terror, I need a new pair of pants now.

Really? What is this, unconscious Newspeak prank or part of the mind#? Tell me your story, I'm all ears now.

more bollox , hype and fear porn

no killer clowns in blackburn

the " retraction " is the lead story in the local comic

the TL : DR synopsis :

police report yhat the injuries suffered were the result of a fall on broken glass and no clown was involved

my personal speculation is that the " victim " invented the " clown attack " because his insurave and or state disability befefits would not pay out for his time off work and rehabilitation for him slipping on glass - but he hoped he would get desability pay for being a " knife attack " victim

Um, yeah.

I think my 13 year old niece is well aware of the dangers of playing with traffic, not sure what but you seem a little unhinged.

You ok?

They are kids, you now? I don't know about you...but when it comes down to comparing traffic accidents, which we can, for the most part - safely avoid, and random lunatics running around the street with knives, real or not...I kno wwhich is probably the scariest not only for a teenage girl but adults, also.

Not sure what point you're trying to make, exactly, but you just came off as a little warped, it's only a thread, mate.

My niece and I thank you for your valued contribution.

ETA - you actually swore in that respponse. you could delete it, but I've quoted it already.

Just thought I'd point that out.
