WWII Dog fights

The video speaks for itself. I wasn't aware they had this type of footage. Certainly a different time. The days of dog fighting such as this is extinct. Missiles have rendered guns useless imo. The f-35s gun is for show or if they run out of hightech munitions.

I think you are wrong. Gun mounts on aircraft have proven to be needed. And this footage is from 60-70 years ago.

There is a great video on the battle of Peleliu.

It was a lot of footage like this they used as templates for the space battles in the original 'Star Wars' movie.

They copied some of them almost shot for shot. It's the origin of the classic X-wing cockpit pilot view.
