The laughter of enlightenment

Enlightenment is always here, there and anywhere. All is needed is for that to be realized. Then a burst of laughter, is destined to come. Its free and it is freedom all in one, that is revelation of the highest order. The pedallers don’t believe it and don’t want to see it or for you to see it either. They will go to any extreme to perpetuate their addiction, of course addiction works better the more practising members there are.
You will be ridiculed and cast aside, specially if you have followers. The funny thing is that nobody really needs followers unless they sell drugs, drugs of course could be anything you choose. The list of addictions is endless and we all have had our share of them, no judgement to anybody is truly warranted. Enlightenment and detachment go hand in hand, whatever comes comes and whatever goes goes. It not the negation of anything or the pushing aside, its pure detachment!

Laughter is infectious ! ...so smile and laugh .

Detachment is too simplistic a word to describe a process that doesn't sound simplistic in action. I like the following statement:

One must look away from external acts and towards the area of inner attitudes and motivation for a true understanding of the role of detachment in Buddhism. Physical withdrawal is only justified if it is linked to inner moral purification and meditation. In this light, citta-viveka and upadhi-viveka become necessary subdivisions to bring out the full implications of detachment within Buddhist spiritual practice. Upadhi-viveka, as withdrawal from the roots of suffering, links up with viraaga, the second word used within Buddhism to denote detachment.

Yes you are right it is simplistic as a word and thanks for your addition to the thread. In this style of writting I see the words to be seeds. Seeds appear to be simple, once planted in the right place and well nurtured are ready to reveal their complexity. Boom, beauty and complexity.

Easier said then done, and who these days can afford to be enlightened. One must be acclimated to this environments for that to happen. And who has time or the inclination for that these days.

But then again, as the fatman once said. "Laugh and grow fat"
