Forget the mythical connects in the article; just think about a 5 meter Python laying in your pig pen ! Link has picture.

When a giant, 5-meter-long python was discovered in Sakon Nakhon yesterday, there was only one possible explanation for villagers — obviously the serpent is related to Phaya Naga, a mythical creature in Buddhist mythology.

The snake was docile for if had just fed on all the piglets that the farmer had in the pin.
Many snakes are on the move all over Asia because of all the rain this monsoon season.

The article says 5 meter-long.. If they would have said yards, inches, miles I would have used what they said in the article, but thanks for the comment especially since you pointed out how I can not even transfer what I have read in an article !!. I think I was doing a mental thing by thinking the snake was over 15 feet in length... dunno how my wiring gets crossed sometimes.... Sorry

Your article quote says 5 meters.

As quoted, by you.
Big snake, but not 15 meters big.

We all get lost in our minds. Interesting find nonetheless. I believe the snake is 16 feet and 3 inches(assuming exactly 5 metres). 39 inches in a metre if I remember correctly.

The real question is: did they get there in time to save the piglets for the farmer?
Sacrifice the snake and cut out the porkchops, um I mean piglets. yum
