The UK election is fast approaching and I thought it would be fun to start a new competition and so this is what I've come up with.

During the course of the next few months each of the three main political parties will be pasting their own political posters up across the length and breadth of the UK.

This is your opportunity to see if you can do better.

This competition will run right up until the election date (probably May 5th) and ATS points prizes will be announced as we go for cleverness, humour, topicality, and on how they address the issues.

To enter you must register a team of two members by U2Uing me. This allows members from countries other than the UK to team up with a UK member if they wish to have help with issues, discuss ideas, and develope posters.

You can make your poster from any UK political perspective dealing with any issue you feel is telling or important. From Iraq to the economy, from crime to the community charge, from the enviroment to Hospitals and schools. Extra points and kudos for topicality.(For instance something happens and immediately a poster is entered then I think a prize could be due)

You are the campaign ad men and women.

This thread is for discussion of the competition only and to give members the chance to build their teams. A new thread on Politics@AboveTopSecret will shortly go up so that those that have entered can post their posters.

Any questions please fire away.

What do you think ??

CAN YOU DO BETTER THAN THIS ?

Great idea.

Can they be comedy, or do they have to be serious attempts? If we can do funny/satirical ones, I'm in.

Any Brits wanna team up with me (an Aussie)?

Oh...I feel so popular now!!

Now the question becomes...can one person be on two teams?! hehe....

I'm guessing that's a big no, but I figured I'd ask as I have another invite from Simulacra...

Having given it some thought what is to stop sim joining our team.

Can we have a three man team?

And JB1 When are you gonna post the thread or forum of whatever for where we can post these posters?

This sounds like fun! I'm not in the UK nor do I know about their political scene so I will definately need a UK partner.

I am however "Photoshop" and "Graphic Design/Publishing" capable. Meaning not only do I currently have such software but I even use them, daily.

Anyone interested in being my partner just let me know. You of course may want to become familiar with my "Political Stance" and general attitude about Politics and Sense of Humor and so forth if you're not already. That will hopefully help in avoiding any conflicts of interest before they have a chance to even come up.
