Love Drunk

I'm love drunk, totally intoxicated.
I'm under your influence, inebriated.
You walked up and offered me a sip,
And I took drink from your succulent lips.

I'm love struck, completely mesmerized.
I'm captivated by those beautiful eyes.
They motioned for me to come quietly,
And I came for you slowly and silently.

I'm drunk, and you're the drink I choose.
The potent substance that I wish to abuse.
You're the drink I prefer over the others,
An elixir that is drunk only by lovers.

As the rose burned, it's colors, they did fade,
But true to its self and its beauty it stayed.
For like the phoenix that's born from ashes anew,
This rose will be given a new life to live too.

I like the phoenix better than a gryphon.. it answers to no one...
