and that will lead his straight to his comments about how he felt god was giving him the idea in all this...
which, obviously, the lady has different moral values, a different perspective on it.
hey, he's the one who brought god into the picture! and he is persecuting her because she doesn't have the same beliefs in god as he does! she could very well feel just as strongly as him that it would be wrong to support a republican.
then, what do we do???

Why do you think it is such a big deal right now that people in the LGBT community are trying to get protected on a federal level? Many businesses can still legally refuse them service just for being gay. It's straight awful.

So now I have had to school you on the English language AND US law. Good times.

The whole reason the Civil Rights and Disability Acts were signed into law was to prevent businesses from refusing services to those covered by those acts. No more of that "We don't server your kind here" to Native Americans etc.

I can't imagine.

The thought is cringe worthy.

You claimed that federal law allows private businesses to refuse service to anyone, then you link me to the "Public Accommodation" laws, that clearly prove you wrong.

Although democrats and Bernie Sanders supporters are NOT a protected class, if he's using his political ideals or his religion to discriminate against this woman because she "receives disability" payments from the government, then he's broken the law. He has clearly voiced his opinion about her on that.

He didn’t know she had disabilities, he said, but noted, “there’s a huge difference between being disabled and drawing disability.”

It's a case that may or may not go forward. But, at any rate, if you read his Facebook page, his business is already suffering.

Karma!

Don't really care.

If I do care, and don't know - - I look it up.

That's what my brain tells me to do.

it could be the same danged religion as his, only using different verses that gives her reasons to not vote for the republican candidate. all that's needed is a sincerely held belief... he's chosing to use his to justify denying her service, but what is hers?? you are right, we don't know, but to assume that she didn't have any that influence her political decision I think is a stretch.
she didn't refuse his service because of that different in moral view he denied her his service because of them.
only I don't believe you can deny service to someone with different religious views as yours.

I think this guy has definitely left himself open to a civil lawsuit, and possible civil rights violations, to boot.

I think with all the negative publicity, someone will look into it.

It might affect future laws.

I don't think she will take it that far though. I think she is happy with the negative publicity that has been given to him. don't blame her really. I don't think there would be a sure win for either of them.
I would like to see someone challenge something like this on the basis that hey, they are a christian also, but they quite differently and the employer forcing them to deny someone service, or a hospital that is forcing doctors to endanger women's lives are or something like this case is transgressing on their rights to act according to their own convictions.

Which was my point that you have failed to see, for whatever reason.

The Title of this thread is: Tow Truck Driver Leaves Victim on Side of Road Because "Religion"?

A Poster came in expecting to see that an injured person had been left on the roadside. Why? Because the word VICTIM, when about a person, implies physical injury.

The OP then berated that person, like that person was way off thinking that was even a possibility because the word ambulance was not used.

I have adequately pointed out that the poster was perfectly within reason to expect that due to the word the OP chose to use in the title.

Do I need to explain this slower?

Hi ray! Thanks for the shout out.

You are spot on but these guys won't let it go.

I think you might like this about the tow driver.

'Call the Gov't': NC Man Refuses to Tow Stranded Bernie Supporter

A tow truck driver in North Carolina said that when he discovered a stranded motorist was an enthusiastic supporter of Bernie Sanders, he declined to help her. When Kenneth Schupe arrived on the scene in Asheville, he was dismayed to find a "bunch of Bernie Sanders stuff" on and inside the woman's vehicle. He said he told the woman "very politely" that he couldn't tow her because she was "obviously a socialist." He advised her to "call the government" for a tow instead.

VICTIM:

1. a person who is tricked or duped.

2. a person who is deceived or cheated, as by his or her own emotions or ignorance, by the dishonesty of others, or by some impersonal.

3. A person who is tricked, swindled, or taken advantage of

4. someone who has suffered as a result of the actions or negative attitudes of someone else or of people in general

Why would someone think its a bloody body?

It certainly wasn't my first thought.

Not according to what I've read.

My only thought is/was - - - if he was sent with prior knowledge the "victim" was disabled. If there's written documentation.

I think he's probably caused himself enough harm. But, who knows - - maybe he's the local hero.
