Timing or coincidence? On this Easter Sunday it appears suicide bombers detonated at a popular Lahore Park main gate killing 38 and injuring hundreds many women & children enjoying the park a popular busy area

BBC

BBC are speculating for reasons best known to themselves, that this was an attack on Christians on their Holy Day which at this moment in time seems a little absurd considering the park is filled with mainly Sikhs & Hindus as this is an upper class Punjabi area and whilst there are some Christians they are a tiny minority.

UPDATED 53 now confirmed dead
53 Dead in Lahore Pakistan

Regardless of whether or not this was an attack aimed at Christians what should be remembered is that these bombers, these murderers kill more or their own religion than any other as evidence by the latest attack at a football match in Iraq where again dozens of Muslims were killed. Makes sense huh?
Iraqi Explosion
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack

What a mystery...
I wonder what could be behind this act of terrorism?

Wouldn't surprise me if we see more attacks today...

I agree..its quite probable

I struggle to find any one country that could be classed as "safe" from these morons and also struggle to see what the hell the end game is...killing their own? How will that help their *cause*?

If as people speculate it is to cause divisions between Muslims and everyone else.....they are doing a damn good job of causing divisions amongst their own communities and religious factions.

I really don't get it
Oh I get the politics, the oil, the petro euro blah blah but the final end game? Nope

Pakistan is a battleground of a very complicated nature.....
My guess would be the same muslim extremists who are blowing stuff up around the world....
The battle for ideological supremacy is far from over in the third world...and it will continue beyond our puny lifespans I think.....
The unimaginable toll in human horror and misery coming down the pike looks like a massive shtzunami that could drown the entire world....

Condolences to the victims.

It's sad to see people resort to murder and terror for religion.

So facebook just sent me an alert saying that I was close to this bombing and asking if I was ok. Did this happen to anyone else?

I thought it was kinda weird.

It's not really about religion.

No real God believer behaves that way.

It's about control and domination.

I wonder if we will see temporary profile picture changes to the Pakistani flag on social media, or the rallying cry of "we are all Pakistan?"

I kinda dount it.

RIP, innocent people everywhere, killed by madmen.

That is redundant if a large enough faction of Islam wants to fight.
AND apparently THEY DO.

Yes, I know --- you're very right wing.

Very "gun ho" and all that.

The leaders are about power and control. Most of the followers are young and idealistic.

Let's see --- individual bombings or killing hundred by dropping a bomb from a plane.

Depends on which side of the fence you're on.

I stand by what I said. Most God believers of any religion do not behave this way.

But, there are extremists in every ideology.

I think it runs deeper than that
A large plan is afoot that we will never get to know about I'm sure....until its in place
This recent penchant for constantly playing on alleged "white guilt" is a telling sign and has been very effectively used all over Europe in the migrant wave with the majority of people forgetting that Muslims conquered over half of Europe and elsewhere wayyyy before we guilty whites interfered with our Crusades
Is this not what is happening now?
Someone somewhere decided that the EU was far too unified for "their" plan to work and has been working hard at crumbling the Union

Without religion this act probably would not have happened.
How do you think these young idealist came to believe such morbid acts are justifiable?..
Religion.

If not for religion it would be something else.

Extremism is extremism.

Leaders are about power and control.

Well, that is a conspiracy.

I'm just not going to blanket a whole group of people as extremist terrorists.

Oh really? You have any better ideas to brainwash people into mass killing children on their religious holiday?
Are you suggesting this would have happened regardless of religion?

Extremism is extremism.

Profound insight.

Leaders are about power and control.

And religion offers power and control without question.

I'm aware of the power of congregating under an ideology. One reason I'm atheist. I prefer independent thought.

Also, to be clear, I'm definitely not a pacifist.
