I remember reading somewhere that there was some sort of Gulfstream used at Area 51 as a flight systems test aircraft. It parks at Phoenix Sky Harbor Int'l at times I think. I'm not sure.

Does anybody here know the registration of the aircraft? I was planning on doing further research.

Any information on this Gulfstream is appreciated!

You sure it's the one that operated at Area 51?

It's one of the most popular business jets out there. The G650 is one of the fastest ones too.

Yep. It could do 0,925 Mach in test flights. I think that in some places on the airframe the airstream was almost sound speed.

Yeah, but the G-II (G-1159) is first generation gulfstream. You can buy all of them you want for less than a million each. the average price for the 650 is over 63 million dollars each. The base price new is over $65,000,000.00. And then add many millions for options, avionics, plush interior, etc.For some reason, there is now a glut of used G-Vs for sale, so if you have a spare $10-15 million, now is the time to buy. Grumman makes (and made) great aircraft. All the cats:Wildcat, Bearcat, Hellcat, Tigercat, Tomcat, Panther, Couger, Jaguar. And the "birds": Widgeon, Goose, Albatross.
