The explanation is simple. Spammers want to attract anyone by any means to porn sites (where there is a small chance you will be duped into entering a credit card number) and also to get rich quick sites (same deal). What they need are keywords and phrases that will be searched for to drive traffic to a website. They don't want to bother making content so they rip it all off of other places.

So here's the scheme: we scan over every page of every public forum with web crawler, save keywords, links, and usernames, then we build a fake sites similar to the public forums (that are really just dummy sites with links to it) with the goal of generating ad clicks and ultimately even phishing your credit card numbers. Google uses it's own crawling robots to find everything, finds these phishing sites and indexes them, which slowly draws traffic in over time from people like us who just want to go on public forums.

The fact that you searched your own forum handle and clicked on their links proves that it is working somewhat. It's nothing to be too concerned with, unless you actually did get duped into giving away personal info. Google is usually good at 'omitting' these duplicated sites from the results. ATS actually benefits from this because it provides backlinks to the site which will increase search rank. 50% of the internet is just bots doing crap like this. I can build bots, but this is just atrocious lol
