I'm a weirdo.

I went back to a post I did at night and thought WTF how did I NOT catch that.
I usually am very careful when posting and read my post at least twice before hitting reply.
For some reason I didn't catch the double negative and now it's past the time to edit.
I am a dumbas$.

Not an excuse but I am extremely sensitive in regards to sleep since I got sick.
This illness severely effects my cognitive functions.
So I guess I have to stick to - No posting when tired. Adding that to the existing - No posting before morning coffee.

I'm sure others have similar scenarios but probably in regards to being under the influence.

Of course I could self-impose whatever rule I want.
No posting unless completely naked
No posting without a tinfoil hat on
No posting on an empty stomach
So please enlighten me with any self imposed rules you might have.

I try not to post unless I have fully thought out what I'm wanting to say. I know it seems obvious and almost a sarcastic response but it's truly something we should all exercise IMO online, because once it's on the Web it has an immortal life of its own.

I'm a weirdo.

No you're not, you admit your mistakes instead of denying them.

Sorry about your illness.

To keeping it short and simple.

Rule 2) see rule 1.

My main rule is that if drinking I only ever participate in off topic discussions. It's recent rule and one that is working out well as I am still here.

The other one is that I try to avoid political discussions as they just tend to end up as mud slinging.

Rule one: Don't use to much logic, people tend to ignore it.

Rule two: Don't post in thread i couldn't care less about, break that one once in a while.

Nice replies from everyone.

That's my rule, to not post when tired, but when I'm tired, I forget.

Also, I am still learning not to star a post until I've read the entire post. I can't say how many times I wanted to take it back, by the time I finished reading it.

I've learned the hard way to click on the name and get a feel for the over all personality of the poster, if they've pushed any of my buttons. Some people are just unhappy campers looking for a confrontation, and others are really neat posters who I caught on a bad day.

And mostly, obviously not practiced here, I keep telling myself to only post if I am contributing something of value.

Be sure to censor yourself as much as possible, otherwise you get banned.

Also use the proper code to communicate with the ones you want to communicate, like "those who leap forth"

Yes I agree.
One's posts get highly scrutinized here and reigning in the impulse to immediately hit reply would make sense.
I don't post in some of the heated political forums since there tends to be rapid fire exchanges.

An important rule for me is this: If it's really funny, don't post it. The content might be against T&Cs and it could mean going bye bye.

Oh thanks, I'm on the recovery end now so it's not as bad as a few years ago.

Oh yes I will always admit my mistakes. I revel in being a screwup.

I don't insult other people's avatars- I only mention if one made me laugh or I liked a previous one better.

I don't use funny names for political figures or political groups. I try to not use the words for groups at all...if it is possible in the post I am replying to.
