Great news for those of us that may overendulge in the spirits. If (2) cups of coffee per day will slim my chances for liver damage, I'll gladly have 4 or 5!!

I remember years ago, one of the pop singers said she did coffee enemas routinely. Here is another link to the health benefits of that wonderful morning "cup of Joe"

Drinking two cups of coffee per day may lower risk of developing cirrhosis by 44 percent“Cirrhosis is potentially fatal and there is no cure as such,” said lead study author Dr. Oliver Kennedy of Southampton University in the U.K.. “Therefore, it is significant that the risk of developing cirrhosis may be reduced by consumption of coffee, a cheap, ubiquitous and well-tolerated beverage,” he told Business Insider via email.

According to the study, drinking two cups of coffee per day may lower the risk of developing cirrhosis by 44 percent.

“Kennedy and colleagues did a pooled analysis of average coffee consumption across earlier studies to see how much adding two additional cups each day might influence the odds of liver disease… In eight of the nine studies analyzed, increasing coffee consumption by two cups a day was associated with a significant reduction in the risk of cirrhosis.”

All but one study illustrated a correlation between increased coffee consumption and a reduction in liver damage.

Filtered coffee vs boiled coffee
“Compared to no coffee consumption, researchers estimated one cup a day was tied to a 22% lower risk of cirrhosis. With two cups, the risk dropped by 43%, while it declined 57% for three cups and 65% with four cups,” Business Insider reports.

I'm a twenty a day man. Feel naked without my mug. I swear I'll be found dead with it still in my hand one day.
All the best people drink coffee.
Zappa called it black water.
I'm sure I've heard that somewhere else.
Anyway, its empty now so I'm off for a refill... Cheers.

Interesting news! I wanted to add one more to the thread for people that don't drink coffee. Licorice root molecule blocks liver damage from consuming alcohol. Glycyrrhizin from licorice root a powerful, potent liver protector with anti-viral, anti-tumor, anti-inflammation properties.

It's rubbish.

Diet and exercise will cleanse your body better than any supplement or stimulant.

I'm more than willing to believe in any theory that allows coffee drinking.
I've seen other stories in the past suggesting that moderate coffee intake can reduce vulnerability to heart disease and that memory problem, thingy- ah, Alzheimers.

That may be true but the last thing I am thinking about is exercising with a hangover

That doesn't seem to be the case with coffee causing liver cancer at least
Higher coffee consumption may protect against liver cancer

Did I miss anything? Just been in the kitchen. Slurrrp. Ahhhhh. Can't beat it. I dunno why, just whatever I'm doing, there's a mug in my hand and when its empty it gets filled.
I don't drink booze anymore so perhaps the coffee is my drug of choice.
Mind you, there are definitely benefits.
Never gonna get arrested drinking too much coffee.
Us subversive types need a clearish head.
