First I just want to say in no way am I well education. I am horrible at grammar and punctuation. I just wanted to get that out of the way before being attacked.

I am not sure where I should post this but here is a story of a lapse in time that really did happen to me.

I was at a casino with my mother. We were playing slots and she gave me a $50 to go get change for her. I told her while I'm up I might as well get us a couple cups of soda. I was waiting in line at the free drink station and I was looking for the $50 bill. I could not find it so now I'm getting frantic searching all my pockets and even look in the garbage ( not like digging in but looking at the top thinking I threw it away ) My mother sees me and I know she is like what in the world am I doing. I even went as far as getting an employee to call security over to see if they can look at the camera ( like the would have ) Security said there is nothing they can do. I go back to my mom ( with drinks ) and I said I am so very sorry I lost your $50. She goes what are you talking about you came here sat down and gave me the change and then went to get drinks.

I have NO recollection of that at all. I was not even 30 years old when this happened and I have no medical issues. Something like this has never happened before. I can understand forgetting where you put your keys or even searching for your name badge for 5 minutes when all along it's on your shirt. No I can't explain not remembering handing someone $50. To me this makes no sense.

Anyone???

Do you and your mom go to the casino often? You may have just been running on 'auto pilot". I do this fairly often. I walk around the house, doing my daily routine and I'll go to get fresh water for the ferrets, only to find I already did, or feed the fish and see food floating on the water. We run on auto pilot more than we realize.

honestly, i have done this kind of thing on many occasions. to the point where i have almost gotten into an argument until i have had a friend lean in and tell me " ahh bro you were doing this and they did that" and it happened only 15 minutes prior, its similar to having pieces of information wiped from your RAM or corrupted and unable to access, lol I remember it go so bad for me at one stage i was writing notes for myself, for what i had to do at work, home and for the short term, i got some tests and everything was normal. i just needed to do some lifestyle changes, healthier living, lay off the alcohol, more sleep etc.
check out the movie Memento

Perhaps the moment was so boring that your brain didn't think it was necessary to remember.

Very strange though indeed.

I hope you're doing okay.

That is strange. Perhaps being at the casino caused you a bout of sensory overload. I forget everything when that happens...IDK.

Ferrets are apparently very interesting pets.
Very inquisitive.

We do not go to the casino very often. One thing I do know is that there is something about my brain that seems to turn off information. Example... I am very bad at names, movie titles, song titles , celebrities , who is who and what is what.

It is like some things that I just don't care about my mind just wipes clean.

I hear you. I go into an antique shop or a scrap yard and my thinking process goes south. I must have been a treasure hunter in another incarnation.

As DAVID64 said 'it could be auto-pilot' or demonic possession.

If it was a demon or Shaytan djinn having a laugh, then you probably spoke in Latin whilst getting the drinks. They often do this.

I bet you daydream too much, or?

Nothing wrong with this unless you do it too often.

Some people can day dream while at work. Day dreaming can be done while driving a car or getting change at a casino.

I believe your problem is day dreaming......you must teach yourself to concentrate more and less day dreaming.

Good luck.

I know that as you get older you start forgetting things
also its important to remember that as you get older you start forgetting things.

I think however the easiest explanation is when you get older you start forgetting things

What are we discussing?

I can honestly say, they are the best pets I have ever had. Smart, playful, clean, lovable, did I mention they are smart?, easy to care for, but you really need to know what you're doing and signs of illness. Kind of like having a puppy and a kitten all in one, that never grows up.

How many do you own?
I'm a dog kind of person but I can't have one because I live in a small apartment, and I just don't think it's fair for a dog not to have a backyard to frollic in.
A ferret would be good because of the long sleeping hours they require, and being able to have them caged for that time.
But I do worry about the issue with their health in the first couple years of their life, and that they are so hyperactive when they are fully awake that it must be annoying not being able to say 'sit', 'stay' ..etc like a dog.
Feels like they would just be constantly running around and (possibly) doing dangerous things like chewing through power cables etc...
Your thoughts?

You could have an issue with your short term memory. If it interferes with your daily life in any way, I would get it checked out.
