Bernie Sanders brings up Donald Rumsfeld and how he announced trillions of dollars was missing the day before 9/11. Starts at 11:50 into video. This was a recent speech in Storm Lake Iowa. Bernie says the Department of Defense is the only agency of government that cannot sustain an independent audit. Making government cost effective, getting rid of waste and fraud is on Bernie's list.

Has another politician ever brought this up, especially one running for POTUS. Bernie wants to get the big money out of politics, starting with overturning citizens united, and get rid of tpp.

I'm a little surprised that he focused on the DOD and not the FED.

It's too bad I'm not American, otherwise I'd be voting for Bernie. He seems like the only possible candidate that's not totally insane.

American's are going to have a tough election next year, it seems

No he said that they could not account for x trillion in transactions. And we have heard the poor accounting apologists many times. Software line items blah blah blah. Money was not tracked responsibly is the bottom line. Nefarious or not. Someones arse should have been on the burner but instead a missile hit the pentagon and the rest is history.

Maybe he didn't want to overwhelm everyone by hitting two giant departments at once. They both need to be clipped anyway. Probably better to concentrate on one at a time so you don't have too many heads explode.

This is cool! I like it..

Also, it may be weird to say, but I like Bernie AND Trump. (In their own special ways)

Both candidates are so different (from the norm) that it would be interesting to see if anything changes under either or. Each have their obvious pros and cons, but at least they're something new for the most part.

Are there any happy medium candidates that are a little of both?

Time to try a new approach I say!

I am continually surprised by Mr. Sanders!

This is a fantastic talk and for him to address the little known issue of 2 trillion dollars missing is groundbreaking from within our political realm. Not to many people are aware of Rumsfeld's little talk, that just so happened to occur on the day before 9/11. How coincidental. Next I hope to hear Bernie bring up building #7 and the absurd notion that it came down because of debris.

I believe this to be further proof that Sanders is not beholden to the same interests as the rest of DC. While I am concerned about what an extreme form of socialism can result in, there are places where it is a must. The healthcare system is an obvious place to start.

We have an extreme form of capitalism which has morphed into fascism, all according to the "law" mind you. In order to bring a balance back we do need the political revolution he is calling for.

To see him discuss the missing trillions on live TV just introduced millions of his supporters to begin the research and start their journey down the rabbit hole of treason known to the world as the false flag of 9/11.

A little known secret is the DOD is owned by the FED.

It is a wonderful way to launder their fictional reserve notes!

Little known as truthers just made that claim up....

to occur on the day before 9/11.

Except it was announced in March, 6 months before 9/11....

To see him discuss the missing trillions on live TV

Just shows he has no clue at all, and gets his silly stories from made up truther websites!

Yes Bruce the mythical offical story is a wonderful version of events that holds no barring upon reality. With a building falling into itself by magic(building#7) and an entire 757 disappearing into a tiny hole in the Pentagon, with no footage mind you!

Those evil Saudi's and their box cutter knifes where smarter than our entire military and simply outsmarted the good old US of A to garner support leading to the invasion of countries that had nothing to do with it.

Now we have bases in the middle east and control the heroin trade globally!

Murica!

Rumsfeld's entire speech works into Sander's point very well.

We maintain 20 to 25 percent more base infrastructure than we need to support our forces, at an annual waste to taxpayers of some $3 billion to $4 billion.

// the sentence following missing trillions//

Essentially nearly a quarter of the entire DOD funding was pointless and a poor investment according to Rumsfeld.

In regards to the 2.3 trillion, that was reduced to only 700 billion by 2002.

Either way Sanders is making a point that should be valid to both conservatives and liberals that the DoD budget was out of control and a perfect example of poor government management and incredible waste.

Or maybe... He doesnt want to kill the FED.. No.. ahhh wait.. what? he did say reign in big banks no? Ask Rand for pt 2 on the Ron Paul bill to audit the FED yet again.. because Sanders who lives to give away everyone elses sh*t to people who do nothing.. He will not audit the fed either..

thehill.com...

"Bernie Sanders has sold out and sided with [Sen.] Chris Dodd to gut Audit the Fed in the Senate. His 'compromise' is what the administration and banking interests want," Paul wrote on Facebook.

But hey... What would one do with sound money???

and S&G's

Sanders is and was and always will be a joke..

Interesting that he brought that up. But, the democrats are the bait and switch party, so i dont believe for a second that he would ever bring that up again should he be president.
