Star Wars Theories (Warning: Spoilers if you haven't seen the new film)

It was pretty clear to me that Kylo Ren was the one who dropped her on Jakku and most likely out of jealousy. She was waiting for family to come back for her, that family I believe she was waiting for was Kylo Ren I keep going back and forth though on whether they were cousins or siblings.

I think he tried to dispose of her out of jealousy because she must have displayed more power with the force at a younger age than him. His jealousy is most likely what drove him to the dark side.

If she is Leia and Hans's kid. It did mention they split. I would imagine that Leia took Kylo Ren and Han took Rey, only Rey would have been much younger, and Kylo saw it as his father abandoning him for the kid with stronger abilities, and playing favorites.

If she is Lukes kid, he may have not wanted to make the same mistakes his father did after impregnating a woman so he bailed. Once again Kylo Ren would have known she was family and disposed of her out of jealousy. I hold very strongly to the fact that it was jealousy of her that led him to the dark side.

It didn't cross my mind that Fin might be Lando's but I do think that is a possibility, but more likely a grandchild.

Yep I reckon Rey is Ren's sister too.

OK well I like to pick things apart and complain a lot and because I didn't want to spoil anything in the other threads I'll vent here:

The ending, jeez how long was she expected to hold the lightsaber out for? I started laughing cuz Luke dramatically turned as slow as he could while she was left hanging for ages.

They make numerous references to how easy it is for the first order to track the millennium falcon. So, in their infinite wisdom they send the millennium falcon to go see Luke at the end with a 2 man crew.

Why would somebody that's gone into deliberate seclusion for decades draw everybody a map anyway?

The guys from the raid that there was so much hype about ended up being totally wasted in their 20 second roles and the lightsaber duels were definitely not choreographed by them. Seriously, watch the raid 2 and be disappointed at what could've been.

I know Ren had been shot by a bowcaster but damn...seems a waste of time dedicating your life to being a Jedi if random guy with no force powers can pick up a lightsaber and do you damage. The Jedi's Luke was training that Ren killed must've been abysmal.

I don't know what was up with Kylo's light saber.

A dig at 'Christians' or what.

'First Oder' a light saber that looked like out of the 'crusades'.

Next two they better lose it.

Really Neo you are seeing things were they are not.

It was just a new light sabre design based on old style swords.

Nothing more.

It was supposed to be lame because it was homemade. He's meant to be a bootleg darth vader fanboy that vaguely pieced stuff together from history.

I really liked that about the movie, that nobody knew the truth about anything that happened before because the galaxy was left in a mess when the Emperor died.

J.J. Abrahms said that his lightsaber was homespun and as unstable as he was.

Saw the film again and defiantly don’t see a rey/solo connection.

Im leaning toward Luke’s love child.

He is a deadbeat loser and failure and like a failure he ditched his daughter and ran off like the deadbeat dad he his.

I mean come on after Yavin he was useless to the destruction of the Empire anyway.

He destroyed 1 walker at hoth and that was it, then deserted his comrades to go on some spiritual quest. It because of him Leia and Hand got lured into a trap in the first place and he did nothing at Endor except nearly get the commando team caught. Vader and the Emperor would have died anyway when Lando and wedge blew the second death star.

Actually, they ended up in Bespin because it was close to the asteroid field they were laying up in and Han knew Lando.

Yes but the only reason Vader bothered with setting a trap there or even following them was because he wanted to lure in luke.
