It needs little introduction.

Anonymous set aside a day that they had tasked with attacking ISIS to send a warning to Donald Trump.

Interested in opinions.

I've sort of been... expecting this. Pun intended.

Anybody. ANYBODY, could be behind that mask, making a video. ANYBODY.
I pay no attention to anybody who wears a mask stolen from a movie prop.

Taking for serious anything coming from a person who wears that mask and then dub's in a voice that sounds like a twenty year old computer is like taking for serious anything coming from a person such as, ah, Trump.

You would have to be willing to invite some serious wrath to pretend to be Anonymous.

They have hunted down and hacked all types of folks. They even found a Pedophile for the Canadian police last year.

It's a collection of pretty fearless and sharp hackers..Since they haven't easily disowned the vid I suspect it genuine.

That is the double edged nature of anonymity. It protects your identity, but makes it easy for others to assume the same persona. It is indeed a problem for them.

Well they took down the site for Trump Towers. They are sending a message that is simple, banning Muslims will just give ISIS more fuel to recruit better.

No, Trump beat their DDoS attack. All his sites are up and running. Also, I thought anonymous was more a mindset than an actual group of specific individuals, guess things have changed.

Yes simple logic but all candidates tell the public what they want to hear to get elected then aim for the same fascist goals as their predecessors once elected. Deck is rigged so why play their game.

They did take down one site of his. The hosting provider of his had a cached version of the site that took over when his server was attacked.

As for Anonymous, they have always been a group with a sort of hive mind. "We Are Legion" Many individuals who come together for a purpose.

I believe they made it quite clear he was a target.

Also not to nit pick but those masks have been around a lot longer than the movie.

Hilary behind the mask? No (has no sense of humor). Why not stay focused on the real target they promised (Sponge Bob Square Pants) carrying that black standard.

Yes, but this simple ddos attack could have been done by ANYONE with the slightest knowledge and google at their hands. It's really that easy.

Ehh, easy in fundamentals not in execution. You must have a hell of a lot of bandwidth to take down a production system. A lot more than a pathetic few MB upload. Much more than just about any average Joe Blow would have access to.

Eh...it's called a DISTRIBUTED denial of service attack for a reason... you use other people's bandwidth for the actual attack.... usually not your own. Using your own bandwidth for such an attack is the easiest way to get caught doing such a thing. Attacking a site is easy... not getting caught is the hard part.

In which case you are now talking about zombie nets or hacked systems that the attacker would have access too. The person or persons would have to have at least twenty systems capable of 5MB to hit 100MBPS DDOS attack. That speed is so 1995.

Possible that anyone could have done it, yes. Plausible that some random hacker or script kiddie did it? Not so much. Plus we have Anon claiming it was them, so whats the point of this discussion anyway?

That anyone can do a DDOS? I wouldn't say just anyone. There is a lot more than just flooding an IP with data making it unreachable. You have to implement it in such a way that you don't expose yourself, and that is a lot easier said than done, even behind multiple systems.

at last proof the governments use anonymous to further their agenda's and political beliefs, this to me stinks of alphabet agency's,
to further the heat on trump, like the recent one from cameron and co to debate not letting trump in the uk,if the uk public where truly against trump the votes would be millions, they are getting scared of trump now and have a full discredit campaign against him and will stop at nothing, trump should watch his back we all know what happened to jfk.

Actually, you'd be surprised how easy it is for the average joe... as rootkits can be bought.... or even easier, botnets can be rented for just such occasions.
