Hello, i admit i am not a wuss, i have seen videos of firing squad executions and didnt bat an eyelid.

What i do not enjoy though is seeing gross things such as pictures of gross gangrene injuries
or women finds spider in food, or woman has huge pimple with things growing on it..
you know just disgusting gross stuff.

I am not referring to side widget bars on random sites, as i know they can have any junk, i am talking about on all the supposed safe and mainstream sites like daily mail, yahoo, outlook, huffington post,
it is everywhere,

I was scrolling through the dailymail and they had front pages of a woman whos face was half burnt through an acid attack.

The warning graphic images was UNDERNEATH THE PICTURE for christs sake, they wait till you view it before you get the warning.

Or several months back an image of a australian muslim isis convert whos child was holding a severed head and yes the head was blurred out but it was just a circle blurred around it, you could still see the person holding the head and their hand and the top of the hair they were holding - so it basically gives you a pretty clear image in your mind of what is blurred out.

The point is, why is there so much gore, and gross stuff about deformaties, exploding spiders, just disgusting stuff all over the net.

I dont visit things like facebook and reddit for those exact reasons, but sadly it seems even on the supposed safe sights, they are full of them.

Every online news site, has in related links gross graphic pictures.
And it is at the point where i will have imageblock on when i visit daily mail, so i dont have to look at the images till i know its safe.

Am i the only one like this?
I just really dont like gross things, wether it is mutilations or deformaties or python swallowing a crocodile or a deformed woman, i just dont want to see that kind of stuff, but it is everywhere, so it seems.

Replies to this would be appreciated, but please dont include any gross pics, even if it is just to make a point. Thanks.

Because that is the reality of life. To me it sounds like you have been sheltered from reality for a long time. None of this is new, This type of stuff has been around for as long as man. The internet just gave it a medium to spread, and gather in 1 spot, So it seems like theirs more but there really is not.

I don't know about your sites, but I encounter this phenomenon nearly never.
Maybe its a *spin* to catch attention used by a branch of news-sites you like to visit?

"If it bleeds, it reads" is an old advertising saying. Gore sells and while most may be a little repulsed by it, it's like a car wreck, you just can't not look.

99% of MSM news are bad news..because it sells, they know "you" will browse their site the badder it is, pics with bad blurring is as close as they can get not to step over the line and be direct gore.

Here is a page you should visit once in a while, i promise there is absolutly no gore or blurred out pictures.

ONLY GOOD NEWS

Oh, and pic. of the day.

Because misery loves company and also for the sheer entertainment value.

Does not exactly say much about as as a species all the same.

I've been reading the Daily Mail for years, and they have started to become more like a gore website. But that's more due to world events or a quiet day. If someone has been attacked in public then that is news. But it's only been recently that people have started chucking acid over each other in the UK. ISIS is fairly recent too. Medical stuff like spots and infections, that's just a quiet news day.

You could try plugging your ears, closing your eyes and going la la la, all day, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If you are too sensitive to the real world what are you doing on the internet?

Bound to be a surprise know and again, try to remember you are in the room staring at a screen, it is not happening to you, whatever bad thing is appearing is not in the room with you. I suggest that you have been conditioned by too much screen viewing in your life from an early age. If what you see on TV or computer screens affects you physically then turn them off and get out more. The boundary between real world and light box images is too blurry.

Can only speak for myself but I get a buzz from seeing sick stuff I think.... If there is a horrendous video I can't take my eyes off it. It grosses me out but I can't not watch it.

It has also helped me deal with situations when bystanders could not cope with what they were seeing, a horrible situation involving a dead kid - The stuff I'd watched had meant his dead and injured body didn't effect me and I was able to help.

The shock factor attracts people.
And it gets more exacerbated since the more we see the more desensitized we become.
This is not the real world, the real world is not all blood and gore and tumors. It all depends from where you look and what you like.
Beside having an adblock to spear me the usual garbage I never visit websites like these.

Sorry but i see your issue...

"I was scrolling through the daily mail"

There is your problem... that site and paper is absolute dredge, as it Yahoo and similar, its sensationalist Journalism meant to shock and awe with no substance...

i never see these type of stories except by some Degenerate linking to the story on facebook, which almost always results in an unfollow or defriend,

i don't need that kind of needles drivel taking up my life.. and generally i try and avoid people who use the Red tops as a source of information... if its MSM its dirge and you should probably just avoid it.

Giant pimple-busting videos.
Aren't they sweet?
I am surprised some cable TV channel doesn't exist to play those things 24/7.
Yeah, our world is pretty messed up.

Nice subject op S&F

It's for mind controlling...
Show ugly, gore, misery pictures and then on the next subject show the info you want (commercials, political subjects etc)
Subconsciously the mind finds relief after the hard scenes and is very vulnerable to absorb info!

Bad things have happened throughout history but now you learn about every single one of them..
Some can be provoked, terrorism, crimes, fear, wars, etc.

NAH, they do THAT with EMR on their cellphones.
The gory stuff is how some people act.
THAT is why we are the way we are when we have been to war zones.

What I hate the most about blood and gore is when they mix it up with with sexual acts...as if it was sexy, arousing and almost normal. Well it's not normal, it's f***ed up and the secret societies do psychotic stuff like that.

I refuse to be desensitized to everything that's from sexual anomalies. It's a perversion of humanity and steps away from making us accept pedophilia and satanic sexual rituals.

I agree but normal people didn't had all this information access to various brutal acts in the past.
Maybe, this everyday news-gore could have a reaction in the psychology of normal, peaceful, and moral citizens.

In ancient Greece they never showed the death scenes in front of the audience in the theaters, because they thought violence has a negative effect on peoples behavior. and it should stay away from the sacred art of tragedy.
What if they they were right?

On the contrary Romans enjoyed live splatter in the arenas...
much like today's youth enjoying watching gore videos on various sites on the internet.

Human nature is always curious and seeks exploration, but it is our responsibility to make a less violent society.
and keep our children away from violence, and inspire them with something else.
and mainly the media's responsibility, who have the freedom to manipulate us,
who don't have to follow any laws of morality and ethics in order to achieve their goals.
They censor nudity, but they have no problem showing our children jihadist be-headings, murders, blood and fatal accidents.

very sad situation

It's weird ,when I was a kid my mom would lose her mind if I DARED bring home a playboy or even a Vampirella and tear it up as porn.
I read Fangoria, Famous Monsters and she didn't bat an eye.

I'm pretty sure today's world is a lot less up close and gory than , say, 1066 or 850, much less pre-Columbian.

I know I haven't been witness to a man being ripped apart by horses tied to each limb, or criminals being thrown on to tall spikes to slowly die, or tied to a stake and burned alive.

I'm sure I could find modern day vids to watch if I wanted to. But, I'd rather not.

I am not sure you yourself understand the magnitude of the phenomenon you've described (after all, you implicitly call those who would not watch such things "wusses"), or its implications, but it's HUGE.

Some of it - possibly most - is the result of mindless, irresponsible, dumb inertia, usually coupled with greed for money.

But since the actual effect of swamping people with such material is to change their perception of the world, undermine any optimism that is essential for a move towards effective change, and, most importantly, induce a feeling of HELPLESSNESS, cynicism and, ultimately, extreme selfishness - and those who spread it KNOW this - then it's not too far-fetched to surmise that THAT is precisely the intention of spreading such material. After all, base, venal creatures who feel helpless to do anything and have no interest in teaming up with others to effect change are the perfect flock to rule over.
To call this policy sinister would be a risible understatement.

You don't have to participate in it.
I don't.
However it seems that all too many people are too much of a wuss to say NO and fight back.
