So when it comes to marriage we have to be equal but when it comes to punishment you are fine with "separate and not equal"?

BTW......have you ever not paid attention and went 5 mph over the speed limit? If so, you are as much a criminal as these people.

A gay man is denied ability to give blood.

Why am I talking to walls?

I know this and I acknowledged it and I don't agree with that but like I said unless you tell them you are gay they won't know but regardless they ALL had a choice.

If your not paying attention when you are driving then you should not be driving ever.

Any who we are starting to go off topic.

So you advocate giving the blood anyway because it will be tested?

As an HIV positive individual I myself couldn't live with knowing there's a chance to infect someone.

I guess we all have our own morals.

so let me get this straight the judge offered them an option that was not jail and all they had to do was donate blood? seems pretty easy option donate blood to dodge a jail sentence not like he was forcing them but giving them the option . i guess some one could attempt to sue if they were banned from donating blood (std possessor junkie etc)

No we are not as it pertains to how easily any of us could find ourselves in this situation.

Me personally I'd have no choice. Whether you say I would our not.

Get that?

What are you even talking about? If you know that you are carrying any type of anything then no you should not give blood but that doesn't give you a right to not pay a fine if you broke a law. You are making it sound like all gay people have HIV what gives?

You are thick I'll give you that.

Judge said give blood or pay fine, where I come from that's a choice.

Got it?

Giving certain people a choice to not pay a fine while denying others that same choice is what I have a problem with.

Why is this concept hard? Some people didn't have the same choice.

Equal treatment under the law was NOT applied. 14th amendment and all.......

Not as thick as you.

As an HIV positive person myself I'd have no choice to bleed the fine away........

OK let me posit this to you. If one person was in a wheelchair and the verdict was walk a mile or go to jail does that person actually have a choice?

You are being obtuse.

Look at it this way everyone no matter what was offered a way to pay their fines either in blood or with cash, anyway you look at it everyone had a choice on the way they paid if you wanted to give blood you got some money taken off the fine if not you paid the fine in full with cash.

My god.

If you are unable to perform one option out of two YOU HAVE NO CHOICE!!!!!!!

That's like saying to black people to either change to white or continue to be discriminated against. Because after all we gave them the choice.......right?

Explain how having only one option is a choice.

You can't.

I'm honestly not sure what the big deal is here? Did I miss something?

Not trying to be a jerk. I don't understand what the concern is.

Did you even read the OP? Even the company doing the blood drive had issues with it.
