Interesting, but no idea what it has to do with the OP.

It is my understanding that while rights for "Germans" went up in regards to gun restrictions; there were additional restrictions put on for individuals like the Jewish, homosexuals, foreigners, etc (AKA: not the people we want to support).

Relaxing gun laws for a few doesn't equate to relaxing gun laws.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Gun laws were relaxed for the majority of German people. Either way, more or less gun control would not have helped avert the holocaust. Ben Carson seems to think gun control either caused it or made it easier to occur.

Well, they used Gun Control to "disarm" everyone who disagreed with them. THEY were the only faction with arms.

Yeah, that made it much easier.

Massacres are much easier to perform than fighting armed resistance.

Well...the guns were taken away, which was the point. That was years ago, are you suggesting that Great Britain and Australia are going to start ethnic cleansing? That seems to be the point of these NAZI comparisons, once the guns are gone the government is just going to round up people and kill them. But Australia and Great Britain haven't done that, to my knowledge.

What's so bad about bad guys losing their guns?

So criminals can't afford to illegally import automatic weapons for drug money?
They have to protect their drugs, kidnapped children, laundered money with something. Right?

Ben Carson seems to think that the German people, especially minorities, were easily overrun by Hitler since Hitler took away guns. This is not true.

Rubbish.

On November 11, 1938 (the day after Kristallnacht) the Regulations Against Jews' Possession of Weapons were promulgated by Minister of the Interior, Wilhelm Frick, effectively depriving all Jews living under the Third Reich of the right to possess any form of weapons including truncheons, knives, or firearms and ammunition.

Before that, some police forces used the pre-existing "trustworthiness" clause to disarm Jews on the basis that "the Jewish population 'cannot be regarded as trustworthy'".

Disarming Jews in Nazi Germany

Rubbish? My OP is about what Ben Carson's ridiculous sign and the contents of the video, mainly. There definitely were more relaxed gun laws, even if not for who the German government considered minorities.

Are you a democrat?

Tell us what political orientation you have?

It always galls me when I see/hear supposedly educated people, running for positions of great authority and leadership, who willfully make totally idiotic, misleading statements and outright fabrications. It’s patronizing and is a disservice to the People. These lying SOB’s look you straight in the eye, talk to you like you’re a friggin’ moron, while keeping a straight face the whole time. People like that give me the creeps.

And it really fries me when these panderers throw in the Nazi card to attract the paranoid segment of the voting population. The U.S. is NOT Nazi Germany. No how, no way, not even close. The cut-throat politicians who try to suggest such a link through their rhetoric and symbolism are not worthy of serving this country. They pander to the lowest common denominator amongst us and do nothing to promote the public welfare. The fact that there are people aspiring to the Presidency of the United States of America who are using such despicable tactics is a sad commentary on the state of our political system. Roll over Founding Fathers, the Schitzos are taking over.

Ben Carson would probably throw grandma under the bus if he thought it would get him a vote. For a neurosurgeon, Ben Carson sure places a low value on the worth, intelligence and dignity of Mankind...

PS: What does reldra's political affiliation have to do with anything? Is that how we determine what's right and what's wrong these days?

Yet the Jews did get arms even grenades and they did try to resist in over 100 armed uprisings. They were all crushed. People seem to think the Jews just walked off to camps without resisting. They did not. They formed armed resistance groups and tried to fight back but, it did no good. Every time I hear somebody use the, we needs guns to fight off the evil government argument I cringe. It is a sill argument that makes me as a gun owner look like a nutter. When things like artillery, mortars, Armor, MRLS, cruise missiles, helicopter gun ships, fighter bombers, armed drones are a part of what you are facing, small arms will get you know where but dead fast. Every successful resistance movement in modern history has been aided by an outside power who provided common weapons systems so ammunition could be supplied along with additional aid. War is not like the movies, those kids in Red Dawn would have been dead in a week.
