If something looks too heavy to lift by one's self in future, don't be afraid to ask for help. Sure it's not great on the ego, but bruising the ego doesn't require surgery.

Nope, never take them at all, I had 2.5s once when I got my wisdom teeth out.

I don't like them, they mess me up bad, and make me nauseous.

I feel like i'm drunk when I take it, but not fun like being drunk

Heh, yeah, well, I can't take 'em anymore either. Chronic migraine ... painkillers cause more episodes, so even my Tylenol is rationed by my neurologist. But before I was finally referred to someone who knew what they were doing, I built up quite a tolerance, not by choice.

To be honest I was mostly poking fun at you but your reaction indicates that you are not aware that this is an open forum with people from all walks of life so you are going to get the odd disagreement from time to time.

I don't ever take any meds I don't know much about them?

But I doubt taking them as prescribed for 2-3 days can cause addiction..... Or can it? I don't know honestly , caffeine nicotine alcohol and THC are the only drugs that ever enter my system, and THC is only a couple of times per year.

I don't even take aspirin or ibuprofen


I do know that every 4 hours I'm just about piss drunk about an hour after I take one.... I either act retarded or pass out....

Actually I did, my girl got me a US ARMY vet hat!!!

I'm still in loose wasted pants, the swelling is still swelling, just another day or two...

Tomorrow is the last day for the pain meds if I can help it, he recommended 3 days at least, and it is still about a 6-7 on my pain scale.

A 9 being the time I burned 28% of my body. Mostly 1rst degree, about 12% second degree of the whole 28%...3 hours in and out of the ER, silver oxide works wonders for burn treatment!!!

Though I did spend about 3 hours walking around ( not really walking, More like leaning over a shopping cart) with my girl.

So walking like a man is coming along in its own time.

A few more days.... Maybe 5 as long as I don't just sit around, but still don't strain myself, and I should be pretty well off.

My girl was worrying over me the whole time, but 10 mins here 20 mins there..

It was uncomfortable but not painful mostly.

Today was the worst, tomorrow will be worse still, but the next day.... Things should start getting better daily!!

That is when i'm planning to go ibuprofen only.

I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and prefer not to be taking the narcotics.

I have watched them ruin lives, I'm not that guy.

I would rather feel some pain.

Congratulations! And congrats on finding one of those carts operable. I tried a few times with a horribly sprained ankle, but always dead batteries. I was getting around fine but in excruciating pain anyway, but i also always wanted to use one of those :-)

Anyhow, here's to a speedy recovery and no spiders.

I live with chronic pain every day of my life. If pain is weakness leaving my body, I must be as strong as 20 bulls by now! LOL

I don't know ya, so don't take too much offense, but all this drama (spiders, hospitals, pain and all) tells me you probably ought not to work on a cattle ranch. Spiders and pain are the least of your worries around here! Getting stepped on, run over or snake bit by rattlesnakes when 5 miles from the truck will keep your head on a swivel. We've got all manner of critters, spiders are actually welcome here (even Black Widows...and we've got loads of them. They just get relocated outside.)

Pain? Well, that's just a way of life; it's a good reminder you're still above the dirt!

Saddle up, cowboy...it's gettin' daylight outside and we got fence to fix, cows to feed, calves to separate, hay to haul and plenty of things to keep a feller's mind off a little pain!
