I want you guys to look at this video taken at Idaho and tell what you think of it? Is it a real pterodactyl or unfortunately just a well made cgi fake.

You can watch the video here

Here is the video

Edit: Despite the shaky camera and zooming on the flying thing, the flying motion seems very natural. It can only take a really top of notch CGI expert to get something close to as natural as that, but I could be wrong

Whether it's an ancient bird, I can't tell what it is at that distance.

Peace

I think it's time to rewrite some text books.

The way it dips it's head to look behind itself in flight is truly masterful
if this is CGI.

the neck flip at 0:40 looks unnatural to me, and it gives off a fake vibe, other than that it looked real.

Did you really have to ask that?

It is a obvious fake, with very poor cgi.

Speaking of Pterosaur sightings (A lot seem to be in the northwest US):

It is time to rethink our history.

a drone or a kite or even a rc toy couldnt be that agile (wing flapping?). the video must've been edited, but it's a good animation if that's what it is.

There were some university guys who built a radio controlled pterodactyl several years ago to research how the critter controlled directional control using it's head crest. This pterodactyl looks exactly like the one in the video I saw on Nat Geo.. They did a good job making the thing look real and fly... so for me I will go with either the original made creature or a better made model; although if you really watch, the wings are not symmetrical as the right wing tip is canted down... Probably from a prior "not so nice landing"..

P.S. I could not find the Nat Geo film but a really cheap good flying version is:

How did you come up with that conclusion without an analysis, please share?

No, just watch it, it is obviously bad cgi.

Video screams fake in every way possible. CGI is half decent though.

Guys lets get some thinking caps on here and explain how you guys are so certain it is CGI? It seems so natural to me
it could be a mechanical toy?

Peace

They do make RC craft that look like Pelicans… I mean Pterodactyls, but this one looks too "animated" .

That became clearer the blurrier the close up.

at least tell why you think its cgi, it's obviously hard to tell. only thing i can think of is the unnatural neck downturn in mid flight, other than that for me its a pre historic bird.

They are not certain it is CGI. It just goes against their belief system. Dinosaurs are not millions of years old, and they cannot accept that. There are plenty other videos and pictures of pterosaur sightings that I posted above.

can a toy do the natural wing flapping and gliding like the "bird" in the video?

i'm the first to say its cgi, when i see a fake animated ufo, or fake crypto on yt, but this one looks different.
