I would suggest a box mod as well. A really good combo for beginners is an eleaf 30w and a aspire subtank. It would give the best flavor vs clouds at a low price. The subtank has prebuilf coils that are replaced whenever they get bad (depends on vaping habits, mine can last 2 weeks to a month but I'm not picky about flavor) the cold are also fairly cheap but get them online. As a rule of thumb, any vape shop will be about 50% more expensive at least in Wisconsin.

As for RDAs, they are bases to attach to the vape that allow you to build your own coils. Personally I would say wait a bit to get into these. They are fun and give great flavor but you need to know how to do it right. Definitely look up all this stuff on your own but I would suggest subohming with a tank first.

As to it being more expensive than smoking, it depends. If you just want a standard vape, with no messing around, it is cheaper after the initial purchase (depending on how much you vape )it will pay for itself in savings after about a month. If you want to go deeper (RDAs, rebuildables, cloudchasing, temp control) it will get expensive. BUT, at that point most vapers count it as a hobby so they don't mind spending more or building their own or anything like that so it all depends on you

Also: as a warning: clean your tanks periodically. Failure to do so can lead to the formation of Formeldihyde in the tank, which is bad

HAPPY VAPING

Lol touché Mugly.
But it is different. when i come up from U/G and blow my nose and cough out the days beat, its like dirt coloured. The morning phlem is litteraly black. No grainy substance like the dirt from when i just get up from under ground.

is that a 10w?

im going to purchase a couple eleaf kits....but if thats the 10w, and you (as a long time smoker) are happy with it...

Im not looking for a new hobby here. Im looking to not buy cigarettes.

ETA: i should add, the one i got to "test the waters"...its variable in 4 preset settings up to 4.9w. Im fairly happy with that, honestly. Although ill sit and nurse it for a long time before i feel like im done. But while vaping i don't smoke, or want really want to smoke (outside of subconscious habit, anyway).

Anyone have one with flashy LED's and strobes yet? How about one that plays music and has Bluetooth, and automatically re-orders juice for you when low? Are they making them with sound effects yet?

I've had quite a few but now primarily use the two SX Mini M class I picked up. Love them, expensive but worth it. I only run a few tanks now. I have a Kayfun V4, Kayfun Lite +, and two Triton tanks that are my most used. I picked up a Goblin mini today and think it's going to become a favorite. Forgot to wash it and tastes a little machine oil, the powers been out all day so I'm really not in the mood to build it again by candlelight.

My favorite drippeds so far are Tugboat V2 and the Vector. I've got a Marquis in transit and am pretty excited for it.

Waiting on VaporShark rDNA 200 to ship, they've had some issues getting them sent out. Really looking forward to it. The new chip sounds pretty impressive, and there are a few things that would really make my vape more satisfying I can tweak with it.

Sony stopped making the VTC5. They still make the VTC4 as I recall. Don't buy any batteries that aren't Sony LG or Samsung. You can still find the 5 but it's not worth the hassle. Since you're using a regulated mod don't go for high amperage, go for something with a continuous discharge rate of 20 or higher that has a better mah rating, it will last longer and you don't need to worry much if you're using a regulated mod.

I would t buy an eleaf anything. Look into the pionee4you D2. Small box, takes an 18650, I think it's 70 watt and can do temperature control which you will love if you try. You can get them pretty cheap, I'd want that over the Subox kit. Slap a subtank from kangertech on the thing. You can buy temp coils and regular coils and it comes with a rebuild able deck if you get to the point where you want to make your own coils. This saves a fair amount of money and is kinda fun. You will need an external charger, buy a Nitecore. If you look around I want to say you can get the whole set up for around $90, maybe less.

This should keep you satisfied at most any stage you get to. You get great flavor out of that tank, you can buy prepare coils from .5 ohm to 1.8 or build your own, the device is small but has a fair amount of power and will let you try temp control so the vapor is as cool or warm as you want it. If you start building it will keep you from getting dry hits, which are like lighting a cigarette filter and highly unpleasant.

I would have saved a ton of money if I had just bit the bullet and paid a bit more from the get go. I took gradual steps and regret it. Now I have a bunch of mods I don't use.

Research the better brands. I would also recommend a Sigeli I spelled that wrong on my phone and lazy 75 Watt TC. They have a great track record and the box is still pretty small. It's got temp control too. Google and research before you make your mind up. It's a cd way to avoid problems.

Here. Awesome sight. They always have good prices and are reliable/safe.

This is the D2 and what I would get in your position.

That's a screaming deal. I've got pretty nice gear and I was tempted to pick up that D2 for portability.

The Joyteh you linked isn't bad. I've never used that atomizer before, but I've never heard anything bad about it. I'd rather spend a bit more and get a Kanger Subtank. I don't like built in batteries personally, so I wouldn't buy it. I like to be able to swap mine fast. 5,000 mah is going to last you a LONG time though, and if you aren't getting nerdy about it that will save you some money. You can also upgrade that tank if you don't like it. Temp control is awesome stuff.

So $55 = $25 + $12.50 for the Nitecore charger = $92.50. That's not bad at all considering it comes with a free battery. I don't know about shipping costs.

Wherever you go, get good batteries and get a Nitecore charger.

I'm all for supporting the local store, but you will save an INSANE amount online.

I'm assuming you don't care about what I use, but I'll throw in some links anyway since I'm bored.

SX Mini M Class, got some insane deals on 2 of them

iPV3 Li I use at home for battery life or high wattage.

VaporShark DNA 200 is the one I'm waiting on.

Kayfun V4 and it's predecessor Lite + were a pain to find in stock

Aspire Triton, I use this when I'm lazy. Nice tanks, they top fill and I like the rebuildable section. They also take prebuilt coils.

well domo i know you said dont get eleaf but i did.
i got the 30 watt but i already have it turned down to 15. i was ripping at 20 and it was too much.

i got the eleaf 30 watt, a charger, a lanyard style case, an adapter, and a tank for 63 bucks at the store. i didnt even need the tank but i didnt know it. i took the one off my pen style and it fit.

hey have some killer tanks or atomizers or whatever you call them but i was keeping it cheap.
i have the tank that is on it, a new one, and another spare so i am good on those.
by the time those coils and/or wicks fade out i will be able to buy some nicer tanks.

i am really liking this damn thing.
the 12 milli cinnamon juice is tasty.

they have a ton of tank up there. the one i bought today was 6 bucks. i do like them fat daddy tanks though. they had a bunch for like 25 bucks. i am sure i will get into those eventually.
i have 3 tanks now and 1 is brand new and the other has only been used for a day so i am good.

i thought about getting into winding my own # and getting some japanese cotton but i dont think i am going to.
i really dont 'vape' all that much.
i think the tanks are going to last me a long time but i am going to get a fat boy.

im glad i didnt get the 100 watt or spend the money on a provari. i know the quality is better but i really have no interest in getting big rips and huge clouds.
i am doing the vaper thing strictly because i am a dumb ass addict.

when i am at work i find myself getting agitated and wanting to smoke...thing is i hate smoking cigarettes. i always have. i know a lot of people actually enjoy the motions of smoking and enjoy the taste but i never did.
i smoked for years and i almost always would put it out about halfway down.

i do like the flavor choices with these rigs though.
12 milligrams seems to be good for me.
i have this 30 watt turned down to 15 and it is just right.

my delicate lungs just cant handle the big rips.

not saying this exact one but i like this style. kinda short and stubby

outstanding.

our local "shop" is a joke. They have 4-5 times more display space than merchandise. They have what appear to be junkies working there. If i don't have cash...i don't buy. They sure as hell ain't getting my credit card.

There is a tobacco shop in town that I think has some vape stuff. I am going to swing by there in a little bit to see what they have. But i am looking for an eleaf 30w, too. And a 10w for my wife.

After watching some reviews, i am convinced that it will suit my needs just fine.

i know some are saying dont buy it.
i am pretty damn happy with it though.
it was cheap and seems to be good quality.

it does not have temp control or anything super fancy but it is nice.
can turn it on and off. lock it. adjust the watts. adjust the volts.
it is decent size. not too big. not too small.

if youre just worried about getting the nicotine delivered and not too much worried about fancy and monster clouds i think you will be fine.

i like the fact that the battery is built in too. i was a bit leary before i bought it cause everyone seems to have a different opinion on what brand and type to use. there are so many brands of tanks and such. i thought they were all exclusive to the brand but they are interchangeable.

those fat daddy tanks screw right into the unit. i have the cheaper tanks so i had to use an adapter but it only cost 2 bucks and is about the width of a nickel.
i have 3 different brand of tanks and they all screw right onto this with the adapter.
the one in it now is a 1.6 ml vaper mate.
the other one i was using is a 2.4 kanger. they fit fine.
it is not too heavy but has a little weight to it so it dont feel fragile.

if they dont have them at your local shop they are not expensive online.
i think on the website you can get the 30 watt with the tank, charger, case for about 80 bucks with free shipping.

so i went to the other shop, and they actually have some gear. They are a combo vape/tobacco/head/porn shop. I have no idea how he is allowed to operate in the city limits, given the way things tend to go around here.

The only eleaf they had in stock was an 10w "iStick Mini". In pink. I thought, "Perfect! The wife wants that, ill grab it while im here". Except the girl helping me knew less about it than me. So i am going ot have to figure out a few things on tanks before we settle her in. I think ill end up getting her 2 of the Kanger3 tanks that I have. But first i have to figure out the coil/wick situation. So she gets a couple disposable tanks for the meantime. But i love her device quite a bit more than the one i have right now.

In any event, i could be happy with the 10w device. Since the 30w is the same size as the 20w, ill just get the 30w. Im going to order it in a few minutes.

i think it gets complicated if you get into the higher end stuff.
i have 3 tanks that were all about 5 bucks each. you can see the wicks hanging in the middle of them.
they all fit the eleaf.

these work and pretty sure there is no wick
