Sounds like another way to say the same thing.

Yes, I just like to point out the real evil: False Authority.

On this Independence Day... perhaps a new way to celebrate the holiday is to shift the focus of collective independence to individual independence. The idea that claiming a collective independence will protect our inalienable liberties seems to have failed. How about a more individually oriented, decentralized approach? ...all based on the sanctity of individual autonomy and the truth that no man is born another man’s subject or slave?

Join me in claiming true independence by withdrawing your consent and allegiance to a criminal regime posing as a benevolent master. Separate yourself mentally and emotionally from the death cult that values human sacrifice for the collective over the life giving accomplishments of free living individuals.

And why stop there? Why not expand the scope from a localized effort to reassert our rights as freeborn sovereigns to a worldwide campaign of individual empowerment and liberation? Instead of foolishly celebrating a past independence from one king, just to become enslaved by another, let’s actively declare and celebrate an independence to all present day state masters... and all such False Authority.

bingo.

just because the container is different doesn't mean that knowledge is truly yours until you experience it, even then it is experienced just by the concepts we give it, experience clarifies this. a bad dog is never a bad dog to it until you tell it... it is. otherwise its going by it's own nature and getting manipulated by control systems already in place. anything that can harness the pure energy that is being, can be called life, what it travels on is the conduit and input and output varies depending on the container.

ignorance is not bliss, but it is possible to be blissfully ignorant. its a paradox that allows duality to keep on trucking.

There's an article that was recently published that says computers have the ability to dream

They're toasters and they don't dream. There is no such thing as AI either, its also a toaster. There is either soul, or no soul. If a soul is dwelling in a robot, its souled. And that can happen in the universe. Not the same thing as artificial intelligence as in self aware. It's spirit/mind and soul that is consciousness. Not the flesh or the rocks and stones and minerals, or what I call the internet and digital data..

If what you say is true and the human body has all the definitions of "Machine" Its "operator" must be somewhere else, which means we are surrogates operated from where? If this is true then their must be a delay in function from the source. Also this delay would have to be dealt with, as far as the functioning of the surrogate went. What is interesting is that their appears to be such a mechanism, the heart anticipates a threat ahead of time, and raises heartbeat and blood pressure according to the degree of the threat.

"The Illusion of Free Will" is the bigger malware of all. Everything we do is a reaction which is a result from another actions (directly or indirectly). The first action is the only free will, the rest are the results of the first action.

That notion would explain much.

We claim to have "free will", yet we are so easily programmable.

Maybe we have this thing about AI because we are programmed to do so.

Maybe the "free will" program has some glitches in it?

Maybe we are part of some grand experiment in cognitive thinking? First prize gets to claim Earth and all its inhabitants.

Think about it for a moment:

We have an electric current that runs through us.
We have a heart (hard drive).
We have a brain (software).
We have a skeleton (components).
We have skin (outer protection).

Then:

We get sick/well (viruses/virus protection).
We stop/start functioning (expire, begin).
We get vaccines (patches).

Also:

We are connected to each other (Internet).
We infect each other (malware).
We fight over ideas (adware).
We collapse (crash).
We start all over (reboot).

Do I get first prize?

I am an independent AI researcher.

The purpose of a "body" virtual or not, is to enact some sort of self-preservation instincts in an AI. It is more of a test to an AI, than a helpful utility.

My goal for an AI is for it to figure out sustainable existence as long as the Universe exists - under it's own free-will.

This rules out Capitalistic-type systems, nor reward-based systems - the drive to "get ahead of others" which mindlessly drives us to over-consumption of non-renewable resources.

Long-Term survivability/sustainability is probably the goal of any living entity (which may include AI) and this drove evolution to produce more sustainable families of plants and animals.

Creation is still far from perfect. Even nature is evolving towards a non-reward / non-dominant based system.

But humanity is going the opposite direction of evolution. It is tipping the scales of sustainability and acting like a virus or a cancer.

If humanity collectively is AI, then it is not simply an AI but a virus with AI.
