The people who bash AA are the same people who will reflexively bash
anything that remotely
hints at even a modest form of spirituality.
They don't bother to consider that their flippant hatred might, occasionally, convince someone to stay away from AA, thus closing the door on one
option for recovery.
Closing doors of recovery can be a death sentence. So what if it only works for 10% (or even 1%)? To those 10%, it
saved their lives.
Yet these people hear the phrase "higher power" and they instantly set about calling it bulls#, finding ways to discredit it, and discouraging people
from exploring it. They sick their Atheist dogs on it, completely ignorant of how their actions may affect those in desperate need of help, who don't
give a damn about anyone's ideology.
Or maybe they just don't care. Spiting the faithful is all that matters to the lot of them.
