Hi any and all.

Tracking back through some old messages to a friend, i recall an image she was tagged in by a friend allegedly taken at Burning Man in 2009.

What do you think it is?

The guys pages (whom i dont know) seems open so you can check his original post/thread on Facebook here.

Looks pretty cool but of course, any and all images are pretty subjective these days.

I have very little knowledge of photography, digital manipulation, image artefacts etc but keen to hear your views.

Thank you and have a great day.

Looking at the blur path it is quite close to the camera. If it were far away then who ever took the picture would've definitely seen it acting on it's size. I'd happily say it's a lighting effect. Not sure what but it just doesn't fit any part of the photos quality apart from nearish the mountains, again, if it were that far away the photographer would have definitely seen it with their naked eye. But then again who knows. It's not a picture I'd ever use as evidence.

After my extensive analysis, it can only be one of 2 things.

1. A lens flare.
2. A UFO exiting our atmosphere using either a wormhole or a tractor-beam.

I'm going with tractor-beam.

This is not AT burning man .

It may have been taken on the way to burning man or on the way home from burning man.

I am a old burner and have spent many days while not at burning man around the Black Rock Desert.

I first went to the Black Rock Playa in the late 1970s hunting good nudist hot springs to soak in.

To me it looks like a glass flare from taking a photo through car window glass.

A cloud with ice crystals that have formed and refracting the sun light. A fire rainbow would be my best guess.

The sun light seams to be coming from the left of the pic though.

I'm almost certain its a TR3B at arrival. Of course could also be something completely else .
Its just my guess. a reply to: Dreamkidd

Could it simply be a smear from a finger on the lens, a camera lens perhaps, maybe not a mobile phone lens as they are very small to get a big smear like this, but a proper lens on a regular camera?

I'd like to think its something more mysterious, but I've had this kind if streak on my camera in the past, and caused an identical effect. Its probably just a coincidence that the smear goes right through the 'cloud' if that's what it is.

The reflection is in the opposite direction of the sun. Look at the shadows on the clouds, the rays of the sun streaking from top left to bottom right. This reflection comes from the top right, going to bottom left.

My best estimate, is that there is a metallic triangular structure (art piece?) to the camera op's right. It's reflection & subsequent flare appear on the lens.

me too, it looks amazing.

@ O.P. - as for the pic... i don't know, maybe a momentary glare effect in the camera lens or somesuch?

interesting pic nonetheless

If you look at the bottom left and bottom center there is a black reflection on the photo that looks like a person. I say taken behind a car window, with bird s*** on the window.

Definitely a flying saucer. Without a doubt. Pilot was probably tripping from a contact buzz and forgot to turn the cloaking switch to eleven.

You can see above the main subject the shape of a camera aperture, so thats most likely a type of lens flare, and very probably the main prism like, (with the colours) subject is also a camera artifact.
