congress can override a veto, it's been done at least 109 times,
it would be political suicide if a congress didn't.

the last four presidents before obama have had 15 veto's overridden
Ronald Reagan 9
George H. W. Bush 1
william j. clinton 2
George W. Bush 3
but i wouldn't be surprised if there was a new plan devised. there's money to be made.

even if they don't get a full repeal, they can do all kinds of damage to the law after reid is gone, and votes on it are allowed in the senate.
many dems are leaning away from it now, just imagine what it will be like when they don't have control of either house.

If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, but your doctor doesn't have to keep you.

The employer mandate which was suspended in 2013, takes effect on Jan 01, 2015.

The implementation of this part of the law, along with the individual mandate, is key in ascertaining how the overall implemented Act will impact worker's and employers, which will then by law
have to provide coverage or face penalty.

This is the only reason l can think of of why l hope the republicans take the Senate.

Your lucky to find a doctor who only charges $50 for an office visit. My GP charges $135 per visit, unless it is a follow up and then it is only $85. If your doctor is half way decent, perhaps more need to use him/her. You are getting by light.

Hey, maybe they can replace ObamaCare with RomneyCare!

What a coup, huh?

Years ago, I had a private doctor who was also a friend.

He closed his practice and went with a major group instead . He said he spent his whole day being a doctor and his whole evenings doing the insurance and billing problems that his office person couldn't resolve. In short, he had no life.

He loved being a doctor but also he wanted a life.

The group he moved to took care of all the business aspects of the medical practice so he could concentrate on being a doctor. I understood why he closed his practice.

With Obamacare, I think that we are seeing Doctors making the same types of decisions. If it's too complicated to get paid from the Insurance exchanges why not just cut that part of your business out?

You know ... I think it's great that a means is being provided to help people with their healthcare needs when they can't afford it.

What I can't get my mind around is how much 'extra' it's going to cost folks who were barely scraping by with what they could afford to begin with.

It's not really like the one percenters are even gonna chip in the 1% you'd expect.

One of the things I want to see ... yet is notably absent ... is how much from where, how much to where, and an improvement gradient. Without these, you know it's just all made up BS, and they picked your pocket ... again.

I had a great plan. Seemed at the time I 'signed up for it' it was the most rock-solid thing going. Yet, some bean counter somewhere decided it would be better a different way, and the politicians said, "Yay!! More money to go around!!" And it cost me an extra $3,500/yr. This plan has been chiseled down to nothing respectable over the past 30 years.

If you 'really' care ... put a star on this post (none for any other reason, please). If you've read this and can remember, check back in a few days and notice that there won't be 50,000 stars. Fact is, nobody cares about anyone else ... and this is how/why our lawmakers forced the PPACA down our collective throats.

OBTW, my healthcare plan was negatively affected before yours was. If you're subject to higher premiums and payments, I want you to know I care as much for you today, as you did for me and my brothers-in-arms back when TriCare was pushed through. Life sucks ... and misery loves company.

My doctor quit taking insurance all together. You pay cash or hit the road.

It's probably cheaper and you have better care there.

Same here. He's an excellent doc, with affordable rates though. A rare case, but he doesn't do it for the money, just to provide quality "country doctor" skills in my rural area. Retired Army helo pilot, with a triple major doctorate. Open carries a Kimber in his office.

Last year he showed me this, in an absolute outrage. Restructuring of payment flows.

We also share a lot of similar views about the excrement coming soon to a fan near you. Everytime I leave, his last words are "Keep your eyes open, and your powder dry!"

Complete BS

The numbers
The quotes
The false citing of the survey

originally posted by: xuenchen
Looks like doctors are fed up with those special Obama.Care Exchange insurance policies.

214,524 are not going to be accepting your insurance if you have an exchange bought policy. Period.

More than 214,000 doctors will not participate in new plans under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).

According to a survey conducted this year by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), a trade association comprised of multi-physician medical practices,

Two clicks..one to your source article...the second to the actual survey...

That is all it takes to call BS.

The stream of BS gets exhausting...

So...take a look at the "survey"..which appears very unscientific...but also..

The survey includes responses from more than 700 medical groups in which more than 40,000 physicians practice nationwide.

ummm...where did you get the number of 214,524 doctors withdrawing from ACA? Seeing as the survey at best, through some estimated math, includes 40K total?

That survey also states

Almost 80% of survey respondents reported their practice is participating with new health insurance products sold on the ACA exchanges
(ACA exchange products) and more than 90% of these practices have already seen patients with this coverage.

But where does the survey state ANY doctors are withdrawing from ACA?

Where does the actual survey support anything in your claim? In numbers or in the question of "Doctors Withdrawing" from ACA?

LINK
www.mgma.com...

Edit to add:

So I tracked down where the BS originated...NOT with the survey you claim it orignated...since it doesn't say anything about doctors dropping out ...and only had 40k doctors in the survey as a maximum...whilst you claimed it said over 240k were withdrawing..

The numbers, quotes and claims of doctors withdrawing originates with CNS News...the most full of crap source there is...who cites the "American Action Forum" who seems to have pulled the numbers out of their...ahem..rears. The MGMA survey was used for the appearance of legitimacy but said nothing to support the claims

Also your article fabricates quotes...those quotations are NOT from MGMA...they are from a blogger at the "American Action Forum"
americanactionforum.org...

Who is this mathematically challenged "American Action Forum" ???

According to the American Action Network website, the organization's purpose is to "create, encourage and promote right wing policies."

I am very grateful for the low fee, believe me! She did recommend a specialist though and he costs 379.00 for an office visit!!!!
I have a history of a high white blood cell count and I had cancer a few years ago, so she wants me to see him. The first time I saw him he wanted me to have 3 different tests done. I had two. One alone was a little over a thousand dollars!!!!

Looking into what I could get for coverage in the meantime, it would cost like 400.00 per month and a 5000.00 deductible! Five Thousand! I can't afford that!

In Calif they just notified us of the raised price it is over 900.00 a month for the insurance and CA covers most of it somehow they have the money for all these people. That is a $5,000 deductible 10k if you see a Dr not on their list.

So 46% have seen no effect.

"Better" and "worse" by what standard? Do those numbers represent those who already had medical insurance? How do those who could not get medical insurance prior to the ACA fit in to those numbers?

The nation's uninsured rate among working-age adults fell from 20 percent to 15 percent, or by an estimated 9.5 million people, as the central coverage provisions of the Affordable Care Act went into effect in 2014.

www.commonwealthfund.org...

I can't tell you how we fit into those numbers, Phage, but I CAN tell you that I couldn't afford the exorbitant rates before, and now I REALLY can't afford them, so in my case I'm among the "no change" 46% No, lemme think a minute... maybe not... with the brand spankin' new poor tax involved, I'm probably among the worse off, but I'd imagine that wasn't factored into those numbers, so I probably just don't count at all.

See, before the ACA, I was relatively OK. I couldn't afford insurance, but that was all right because I neither wanted nor needed it. That worked out pretty well for me back then. Nowadays, I still neither want nor need the insurance, and I REALLY can't afford it, so to punish my poverty, they have decided to try to take away another chunk of money, further insuring that I'll be even less able to get insurance in subsequent years - the ones I'm supposed to pay their Poor Tax in.

Brilliant plan, eh?

This year ain't so bad - they're only going to try hitting me for 190 bucks total (which they''ll never see, by the way) Next year it goes up substantially, as it does the following year, and thereafter increases at a pace just enough to keep up with projected income to make sure that unless I unexpectedly get some kind of dynamite paying job all of the sudden, I'll never be able to afford it.

What could possibly go wrong with that plan?

"Afford" is a fairly subjective term, though - I can't "afford" to just sit around and light my money on fire, either - no matter how much I make. At present, I can't afford to die, either, but I'm hoping to increase my station in life to the point where I'll be able to when the time comes, because it surely will... Poor tax notwithstanding. Right now, it's a no-win situation - can't afford to be well, can't afford to be sick, can't afford to die.

Thanks, Obama! WHACK! Thank you sir - may I have another?
