Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Speak. In this thread. Bring forth some of your good treasure. Lets see what people have stored up inside themselves.

Star the good leave the evil.

I give you no restrictions on what you can write. But make it good treasure. Speak your mouth from your heart.

I'm so much interested in evil. Unless it can be used for good.

What do you think is good. What is your standard? What is treasure?

What is the ratio of good men to evil men?

If i'm a good man. Can we take the evil men? Do we have the numbers? Whats the story? Leedarroooy Jeennkiinnss.

Are these words treasure at all? Are they good?

So post some of your words.

What you say?

"I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent." Timothy 2:11

If I am not mistaken this came from the same book. I don't agree with it...but then why should I agree with anything in the bible?

You are mistaken... that's a completely different book...

Just because its between the same covers does not mean its the same book... at least in the case of the bible

So one can pick and choose which parts of the bible they wish to keep? I mean I know there is old testament and new testament and that is a big part of Christianity vs Judiasm but come on...the Bible is filled with so much bunk it makes the good moral philosophy parts awkward lol.

Yes... one can pick and choose what they feel is correct...

Unless said person is an adherent to a specific religion, then you're not allowed because they tell you what you have to believe...

I am not one of those people...

Thus I personally have no need for any of the books outside of the 4 gospels in the bible...

Timothy is Pseudo-Paul writing... Useless to myself...

Luke is a gospel, likely directed by Paul to a certain extent... but it still keeps to the synoptic tradition...

ok I can buy that...if you pick the parts out you like..at least you are willing to say that. I support that! But I can't stand when you put anything obscure down from the bible and people come up with the most ridiculous ways to explain why its ok lol. Kudos to you for honesty. I am a spiritual man but have never read a religious text i've felt comfortable with, and I have read quite a few!

A little spiritual music from the Sikhs.

Ek Ong Kaar - The creator is one

Nanak Nadaree Nadar Nihaal
Oh Nanak, God gives this Glance of Grace to those people and they are filled with absolute joy and fulfillment.

Jat Paahaaraa dheeraj suniaar
Let self-control be your furnace, and patience your goldsmith.

Aharan mat vayd hathi-aar
Let understanding be your anvil, and spiritual wisdom your hammer.

Bhau khalaa agan tap taa-o
With the Fear of God as your bellows, fan the flames of the body's inner heat, the Tapa.

Bhaandaa bhaa-o amrit tit dhal
In the crucible of love, melt the Nectar of the Name.

Gharee-ai shabad sachee taksaal.
In your heart the Divine Sound Current is forged.

Jin Kau nadar karam tin kaar.
Such is the labor of those upon whom God has given the Glance of Grace.

Nanak Nadaree Nadar Nihaal
Oh Nanak, God gives this Glance of Grace to those people and they are filled with absolute joy and fulfillment.

Its not about what I like and don't like... its just about what makes logical sense...

The gospels are kinda like a manual for living a good life... and they can and will change ones life if they choose to live by what they have in them...

The OT is not even close to the same.... and Paul had an agenda...

For an example of what I am saying here... the OP used Luke 6 but only one verse in it... completely overlooking the following which is one of the best passages in the entire bible... and totally applies to his topic...

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

See... Logic

Treat your fellow human beings well, and it will be returned onto you...

and not just a few of them... Everyone!

Not everyone realises that...

All this info is within everyone... most choose to ignore it though...

And some believe this book is "Gods inspired word"... to those who do, at least I can say...

Well look what God is telling you... Don't spread hatred and fear... or condemn people because they disagree with your theology... Just listen to what Jesus said...

And they have nothing to say afterwords

haha but that is the problem I don't believe in God from a book or Jesus or any of that. I acknowledge that I have no idea who is running the show and that there very well may be a good but certainly I have never come across a book that made me say "yes that is it!"

What is the ratio of good men to evil men?

Very few are going to make it to Heaven...

On August 3, 1979, Howard Pittman, a Baptist minister for 35 years, died while on the operating table during surgery and had a near-death experience.

Instead of allowing me to enter, the angel stationed me before the Gates, slightly to one side. He instructed me to stay there and watch as the saints were permitted to enter into Heaven. This point was so important that the Holy Spirit told me Himself. I watched the fifty saints enter Heaven, but the point I missed was the time frame involved.

It was explained to me that at the same time those fifty saints died on Earth, 1,950 other humans also died; or only 50 out of 2000 made it into Heaven. That other 1,950 were not there. Where were they? That was only 2 ½ percent going to Heaven! Ninety seven point five percent did not make it! Is that representative of the entire world today? If so, 97 ½ percent of the population of this world today is not ready to meet God.
Placebo by Howard Pittman

Christians in Hell

The two angels escorted me to Hell. I then saw many pastors, elders, and deacons in Hell. I asked the angel, “I know them. They had served God faithfully while on the Earth. They had died some time ago. We all had thought they were in Heaven with God. But now, I see them all in Hell and they are crying out that it is so hot! Why are they here?” There were so many pastors, elders, deacons and all other lay believers.

The angel answered, “Pastor Park Yong Gyu, a person can appear to be a true follower of Christ on the outside but God knows the heart.

There are multitudes of churches on the Earth and many of the churches are filled with many people. However, most of them are not true Christians. They are but church attendants. The true churches will firmly believe in Heaven and a Hell. The lives of many Christians are in chaos because they do not firmly believe in Heaven and Hell. When one soul enters Heaven, one thousand cursed souls enter Hell. The rate of Heaven and Hell is 1 to 1000.” (Matt 7:14)

Heaven & Hell 1000 to 1

Bishop Wilfred Lai is the founder and senior Pastor of Jesus Celebration Center in Mombasa, Kenya and it is a church of over 15,000 members. One day he asked the Lord how many of them were ready for heaven and the Lord told him only 200. Only 1% of that church is going to heaven! Dr. Lai said that some pastors have created large groups of sinners meeting in the name of God. “What you have are not churches, but large congregations of sinners.”

Message from Pastor Wilfred Lai

Jesus explained, “Sesame! In order for someone to be saved, they must believe and receive me sincerely deep into their hearts, but most importantly it is crucial to have a sincere heart and mind. Many who have received me end up in hell, because during the prayer of confession they simply recited the prayer without sincerity!”

Jesus also said, “Many profess they have accepted and proclaimed me into their hearts, and with their mouths believe that they are saved, since they’ve believed in me for a long time, but, it is not the length of time that determines your salvation. It is the process of bearing fruits in your character that leads you closer to attaining salvation.

Many believe blindly the incorrect teaching that simply reciting with their mouths will guarantee their salvation -- and are under an illusion that they will go to heaven. Salvation should be realized through fear and trembling and each individual must grow in sincere faith.” Jesus is heartbroken and frustrated that so many souls end up in hell because they believed erroneously.
