Bud Dwyer was most likely innocent, but ask Israel Keyes.

I could imagine a great deal of good coming from a whole host of international warmongers on all sides Jim Jonesing themselves.

Pass the Kool Aid

The real evil in the world is in it til the end, they wouldn't off themselves. If anything, his suicide was probably a testament to him either being mostly innocent, getting in over his head by someone else's hand, or coerced to the point he couldn't live with himself and everything that came with his downfall.

The real baddies, no matter what happens to them, never give up.

It was FLAVORAID!
I always thought it was cold blooded. If you are going to kill people at least give them legit Kool Aid as a final act.. not some generic garbage. What an a**hole Jim Jones was.

Also.. OP you aren't asking for our advice because you're a fugitive are you?

That's what I was just thinking... OP, why are you asking? Suicide won't make anyone seem 'good', it causes a lot of pain.

(And I don't even know what Flavouraid is, but frankly that sounds like rubbing salt in the wounds to me. The cheek!)

The opposite:

After World War II, Göring was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg trials. He was sentenced to death by hanging, but committed suicide by ingesting cyanide the night before the sentence was to be carried out.

en.wikipedia.org...öring

Like I said, to the bitter end. He was going to die anyway, but the prick wouldn't even let them do it.

Big difference than standing up in front of TV cameras, and of course not having a sentence of death over your head.

I am from PA and remember the very public Bud Dwyer suicide.
I am trying to remember.... did he say that he did that for his family before he shot himself?

I don't know, but he claimed he was innocent and one of the guys who testified against him admitted a few years ago that he lied under oath (he testified so he himself would receive a lighter sentence).

The offered Bud a lighter sentence (max 5 years but likely less, probably a year or so and resign), but he claimed he was innocent and took it to trial. Letting it go to trial tells me he really felt he'd be found innocent. Instead he was found guilty and faced up to 55 years in prison. He even wrote the president for a pardon. All his family claimed he was innocent. So I kinda believe he actually was innocent.

The likely reason that he killed himself at that moment was, because he died in office his wife got to collect the survivor benefits (over a million dollars) and had he gone to jail his wife and kids wouldn't have gotten anything.
edit on 11-9-2014 by GogoVicMorrow because: (no reason given)
